Guard Jake Scott visits Dolphins

Agree with everyone else. Any idea on how much he wants or what the market thinks he is worth?

definately much better than scrub Hicks hope we sign him

Jake Scott is not very good folks.

What makes you say that Hayden?

He's not an all world Guard or anything, but he is light years better than anything we currently have. I would have much preferred Eric Winston, but Scott will fill a great need, will let us concentrate other areas in the draft and won't cost nearly as much as Winston would have.

Do we have enough cap space to sign him? I was under the impression that we only have $5-7 million of cap free. If that is true is it possible to sign him to a backend deal of some sort?

Especially after cutting Y-Bell, I think we are over 15 Mil in cap space...or at least somewhere near that. That is easily enough to sign him, another mid-priced FA and still get all our draft picks into camp.

Scott would be a great vet signing!upgrades o-line allows fins to let Murtha/Jerry fight it out for RT that would be a solid o-line

This would be solid signing, not too expensive but he brings a bigger return. Jake is an excellent pass protector, just what the Dr. ordered for our newly installed WCO.

Anybody else feel this could be to replace Incognito more than replace the names at RG? Incognito at LG in a ZBS just doesn't seem like a great fit and cutting him would save about 3 million against the cap. Sure Jake has been a RG for almost all of his career but his skill set seems to say he could perform well at LG. Solid pass blocker and was apart of CJ2K's 2000 yard season.

I don't think this is for RT.

You might be right mate, but I still see us keeping Richie and sticking Scott in at RG. Richie gives us an option at C if Pouncey were to go down and overall I feel that he makes it stronger o-line than it would be without him-unless of course the FO have their eye on a replacement in the upcoming draft.
