Guard Richie Incognito trains with MMA greats according to Jay Glazer. Cool.

no wonder why he sucks, he's learning organized violence, assault and brain damage instead of learning to block and protect people.

By the way in case you're too oblivious I think I'll state it plainly for you. Football is "organized violence" by your definition, too. 200-300+ lbs guys running into eachother at full speed. No way anybody is gonna get hurt doing that right? lol.

Finally our players are using modern training to get better.

i haven't read the article, but i train MMA at american top team in coconut creek, haven't seen incogs there, but take it from me, it can only help him.

Must have been in LA, thats where Glazer trains his guys.

Pretty cool to find out. I think he's goin to be a beast in the trenches.

Sorry, may be doing it wrong but cannot find it on either one.

Lol did CNN teach you how to spin a story like that? I'm just asking myself how people can spin MMA training into "organized violence, assault and brain damage." If you are concerned about brain damage and violence, why watch football? People get hurt in football all the time.

The reason why he suck is because he doesn't have an ounce of talent in him! Also he should be training with my boy Brock Lesnar for MN and not these cup cake *******! We're in for a long season again if Incognito is our starting guard. Lol Incognito misses another block. He sucksssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!

Hope Richies results will be better than Lesners last asskicking

I spent a few years in Japan and I often wondered why footballers didn't look at some of the techniques used in sumo, as the leverage issues are very similar. Not all the sumo guys are lard *****, some are extremely powerful and well built guys and many were former judo wrestlers, some of them champions.

Judo and sumo would teach any lineman the fundamentals of balance, grappling and leverage.

Good to see guys looking outside the trad routes to get better.

Actually MMA & Martial arts training helps you in many other types of sports. Wrestling, Jujitsu, Judo, Aikido, help you with having better balance, and using your opponants weight against them, while Karate, Taekwondo, Kungfu, and boxing help with speed and agility.

Raw power is an awesome thing to have, but great technique will beat pure power every time. Big Dwight Stephenson was a 250 pound center, going against guys 20 to 50 pounds heavier then him almost every time he took the field, yet beating Dwight was as tough a chore as you could ever have as a D-linmen.

Really hope MMA is able to help Incognito.

i can't imagine any sport better at training a lineman than wrestling. greco-roman to be specific. balance, leverage and anticipation are more powerful weapons than brute strength. i can out wrestle guys twice my size if they don't know what they're doing.

Oh, for the il informed that have posted. Glazer has been brought in by a few NFL teams the last few years to teach their Olineman MMA techniques. Perhaps you have heard of them. Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons and St. Louis Rams. Yeah, they all must suck LOL.
