Gase and Tbaum havent tried. I read a comment by both of them that they have actually not even showed up for work the last two days. Where did you hear that they were considering top tier guards? Ive only heard that from the experts on Finheaven.
 
Probable, but have you seen the money thrown around on guards?

The position doesn't warrant that kind of money IMO. Just stupid. Esp when the D needs more attention.
 
There was the tampering period so I'm sure we made contact. As far as being out of reach for top guys I guess we are not spending as in years past. We as fans aleways wanted to keep most our own and not let TBaum be our Jerry Jones. It looks like Gase is rubbing off.
 
I guess that unless you're willing to pay 10 millions a year or more you're not going to get a top tear guard now a days. Unreal the money that's being given to guards now a days!
 
We missed on Chance Warmack he went to Philly with what could pay Bushrod! We missed an opportunity there or we just wasn't interested.

Eagles signed OG Chance Warmack, formerly of the Titans, to a one-year, $1.51 million contract.
The No. 10 overall pick in the 2013 draft, Warmack never panned out in Tennessee. He started 48 games for the Titans, but landed on I.R. with a hand injury last September. Tennessee was never interested in bringing him back. Warmack figures to have a backup role or possibly compete at left guard. Mar 9 - 4:19 PM
 
I really wanted Leary and the Broncos got him for a very fair price at 4 years 35 mil, and now Zietler and Warmack are gone too.

The top tier FA class of guards has now dried up and we got zip because these morons decided to blow 8 million guaranteed dollars per year for the next 2 years on Branch instead which is a total waste. Leary for 9 per year would have been a much, much better use of $$ than Branch at 8 per year.

I didn't want us to go guard round 1 but now I think we may need to.

Kinda seems like it. I remember when elite tackles got $10 mil per
 
Never were going to invest a ton of money in guards. Everything they've said is they were going to stay a little cheaper ala the bushrod deal last yr. I'm fine with it. Look for 2 guards to be signed next week and a mid rd guard taken in the draft. Fine with it. More concerned with the whole defense.
 
You guys can probably get Stefen Wisniewski relatively inexpensively. Played pretty well as injury fill-in for Philly last year.

We've played this game with him in the past where he opts for another deal else where at the last minute. If I ask you out to two dances and you opt to go with someone else at the last minute I would be foolish to knock on your door a third time. Same with Mathis.
