I was looking through some of the AFC statistics for 05' in street and smiths preview magazine, and to my shock Brooks Bollinger had a higher QB rating than Gus last year. BROOKS BOLLINGER!! To me its amazing that a third string quaterback working with much less talent put up a better QB rating than Gus, and frankly just proves what mediocre quaterback play our offense has been forced to work with for so long. While I don't think QB rating is the end all when it comes to judging a quaterbacks performance, I think that it was very telling. Just think what Culpepper even if not 100% is gonna bring to this offense. Anyone that doesn't admit that we will be instantly much improved on offense just because of Daunte, is really kidding themself. God I just can't believe were finally gonna have a viable QB under center, it feels good!

And Gus had arguably his best season as a starter last year!!

Daunte's the man. When i watch games through out the season,i get pretty hardcore as far as yelling at the tv cheering our team on.I can definately see myself quickly loosing my voice watching games this season. Can't wait.....

Gus' passer rating last year was 71.9. In Daunte's six "horrible" games before he got injured he ended the season with a passer rating of 72.0!

Some QBs whose passer rating was worse than Daunte's last season: Kyle Orton-59.7, Aaron Brooks-70.0, Brett Favre-70.9, J.P. Losman-64.9, Anthony Wright-71.7, Kyle Boller-71.8, Frerotte's ofcourse, and he was tied with guess who? Our own Joey Harrington at 72.0!

But just to let you know how misleading passer ratings can be, Josh McCown-74.9, had a better rating than Michael Vick-73.1. And Kelly Holcomb had a better rating-85.6, than Donovan McNabb-85.0. And I don't think there is going to be any trading of Vick for McCown, or McNabb for Holcomb in this dimension. Well maybe if Wannstedt was still...alright enough of the tired Wannstedt jokes. I vow I will never make another joke about Pornstasche and his insane, pathological trades. But damn, it's going to be like quitting smoking after 10 years of it! That's how long it seemed Porn-, I mean Wannstasche, I mean Dave was with us...

Im a smoker, and I can only imagine quitting during ten years, my guess is that if I smoked after all those years it would be quite plaesant so I guess it works better backwards, not smoking for 10 years and finnaly getting a smoke after all that time...:smoker:

Yeah But Vick is just a bad passng QB and McNabb played with a hernia that pained him when he threw the ball. McCown had two great WR's that he threw to as well.

I had Daunte on my fantasy team last year and i had to bench him for Brunell he was so bad.

I really think the Dolphins are going to be tough this year.

Pain, while it was one of Gus' better seasons, does that make it a good one for the Fins ?? No... Gus was and is a mediocre QB who basically got the job here by default. The bottom line is that his best wasn't good enough...and that era is past us now...

yet Brooks won 2 games and Gus 9 games, it shows you how meaningless QB rating and other stats can be.

Frerotte still played better than anyone we've had here since Marino. We OBVIOUSLY need/needed someone better but I didn't hate the guy. He at least had one thing that Some of the other QB's were so Horrbile at........ Pocket awareness. He actually did a Great job at manuevering around in the pocket, and he did make some very nice deep throws. Now I know Daunte is 100x better than Frerotte but I didn't think that Frerotte played THAT bad. QB ratings can be misleading.
