I hear some of you sayin how Frerotte should start after playin 2nd stringers and get lucky breaks. If you tell me he threw the pass to Gilmore behind him on purpose let me quote someone "I'll personally come down to the fiels and slap you". That was pure luck. So if Dt catches that ball A.J was lookin at 5-7 bout 55 yrds. roughly but oh i forgot thats so horrible. Gus when you suck and bang your head against a wall at Altell Stadium I'll be assured that you can't hack it.

These Feeley vs. Frerotte threads are getting rediculously out of hand. They all turn into pissing matches between Feeley and Frerotte supporters. You cannot be blind to the fact that Gus played better last night, make any excuse you want (knows the system, played against the 2nd string D) but he outplayed Feeley. However You also cannot be blind to the fact that Feeley played a pretty good game, good decisions, and good touch on passes. And thats the bottom line.

That's why they become pi@#ing matches. Because someone comes out and says Feeley or Frerotte sucked. I came on this site last night with a positive feeling on all 4 QBs and immediately started seeing Feeley sucks threads. Saban is the final evaluator and we'll see who he wants to run his team. Do I think that will stop the whining? No. I have come to the conclusion that no matter what happens the bashing will continue

you are probably right, I like Feeley, but I don't think Gus sucks, they are Dolphin and thats all that should matter

Troll....b/c Dolphin fans will support whoever wins the job!

I will say this. Both QBs should have a better game next week unless Saban decides to hammer the run game to work out the kinks. I have a feeling that whoever starts against the 2nd stringers throughout the preseason is going to look good. Both can start and both arent going to be top ten QBs as starters. The evaluation of both will have to be based on what Saban wants from a QB. If he wants a gunslinger he'll go with Feeley. If he wants a safe QB who will take the shorter stuff more often he will take Frerotte

Well I would assume from Scott Linehan's offense that he would want the gunslinger. And I think you make a really good point when you say whoever plays against the 2nd stringers will probably have the better game.

That was my thought on what Linehan would prefer but then again who knows. Feeley's going to look downfield whereas Frerotte seems to prefer the dinks and dunks with an occasional deep throw. Whether the play calling changed to reflect the QBs or the defenses they were playing or a combination of the two is something only the coaches know but Saban seemed to indicate in his press conference that they adjusted their play calling for Frerotte because they didnt expect the constant blitzing by the Bears.

Prior to seeing what Gus could do with the ball, I was hoping that Feeley would make the starting job. After last night, it seems that AJ has some decent competition on his hands. I was impressed with Gus and his comfort with the system, decent arm too.
We just wait and see after a few more games how things play out.

First off, someone needs to merge these threads together. But then, it is better than talking about Ricky all the time.

Anyway, I agree that we need to wait for a few more games to play out before anyone jumps to conclusions. Right now, though, Ferrotte is ahead. But that could all change with a great AJ preformance next week, couldn't it? and I assure you that if that happens, the tone of this board will go with it.

I havent seen Feeley throw one deep ball the only ones that were intermediate were the first play of the game which was a strike to Mcmike and then the 2nd was the DT drop.

You fail to realize he was playing WITH 2nd string players as well.

Feeley does look to go vertical. It doesnt mean he's looking to heave it 40 yards in the air but that he's looking for 10,15, 20 yard completions first. Frerotte seemed to look for the deep pass in his first drive but with his 2nd and 3rd he seemed to look to dink and dunk. This is the point where Saban says he changed the offensive scheme to adjust to the chicago blitz packages so Im not sure if its fair to say that Frerotte prefers the dink and dunk but if you combine the posts of training camp and Mondays game against the Bears it does seem that Feeley throws the better mid to deep ball (anything over ten yards) and Frerotte is better at the slants and dump offs.

i agree i thought that after that game all our QBs had a pretty good game and even did a lot better then ne of the RBs but what i did see that sucked was that O-Line they were horrible if u ask me and like everyone has said over n over again this IS only the 1st PRE season game lets wait till the last PRE season game to finish before we start trying to figure out who sucks at QB
