Dolphins Insider has been updated, at the end of Saban's PC he was asked if Gus took all the snaps with the first team today, Saban's answer "he took quite a few", then the follow up question was if he had decided who the starting QB was, and he said no.

Does this mean that Feeley took some of the first team snaps today? What do you guys think? Am I reading too much into this?

I think Saban has shown us who he thinks will be the starting QB by who's been running with the 1st team the past couple weeks. I just couldn't see Saban coming out next week or in 2 weeks saying that Feeley is the starter.

It was just curious choice of words, he could have easily said yes, instead of "he took quite a few".

Maybe he's sick or hurt and he doesn't want the media to find out. He's being cryptic  Your guess is as good as mine.

I was wondering about that as well... pulling a Belicheck or something.

I still think AJ can take over the starting spot, but probably won't happen until a few games into the season. Somewhere along the line you have to see if AJ has the ability or not. I don't think he's had enough of a chance to show that and I believe Saben is smart enough to make sure he knows what he has before he goes into the next off season.

Me too! I suppose that since this week is designed to mimic a preparation week during the regular season, Saban is also doing his part in not revealing any information that would help the opponent prepare.

No worries on the QB controversy; probably everyone including Brock will have a chance to start at some point this year if the OL keeps it up. Remember who started the last game last year and why.

Frerotte is the starter, Linehan do not like Feeley, he did brought Frerotte in Miami to be the starter, very simple. The funny thing about all this, is that Gus should know Linehan system, since he did play in Minnesota for 2 or 3 years, personally I think that Gus is not ahead of Feeley at all.

Hasnt anyone learned yet.. Saban is the master at saying NOTHING. He said as little as he possible can without favoring one guy or the other. Theres not must to read... AJ is STILL going to get snaps with the A Team. What else is he supposed to say?

good point...the only part that I think Gus is ahead in is his total comfort level while he's out there. No matter what the stats are it's easy to see that Gus is, well, cool when he's playing. Much of that comes from being the league for so long but a big part of it is that he knows what he's doing.

Feeley just doesn't have that same look. He's more like he's trying to force or something...I guess it's more like he's having to push and that shows.

Those things said....I agree in that I don't think Gus is much ahead of Feeley. In which case I persoanlly think that Feeley should start (but that's my opinion)...

..interestingly though....I think that the final decision is going to be the guy that Saban believes the other players have the most confidence in.

I dont think its that Linehan deosnt like AJ.. i believe that Gus was brought here because he: Yes knows the system... and he has played somewhat well in it.

On opening of camp it was AJs job to lose in my perspective... AJ just hasnt shown enough to pull away. And in the end.. they want the guy who has more experience at the job... there nothing out of the ordinary... when it come to any job for that matter.

I agree. Saban is not gonna use stats as his guide as to who to start. He will look at the whole picture. He will look who has command of teh hudlle, who is most comfortable in teh system, who shows teh better poise and confidence. Yes performance will factor in as well, but unless one is siignificantly outperforming teh other, which hasnt happened, the other things will be the tell. Right now teh players have the confidence in Gus, while AJ is getting there isnt up to full speed yet, Gus is a vet and doesnt ratlle at this point and is poised. I dont like his accuracy, but do like his demeanor. I respect that even tho the o-line got heat from Saban, Gus didnt point blame, nor did AJ. Gus has shown alot opf maturity he didnt have in teh past so that bodes well.

I am hopeful tho with AJ he has shown progression from last year. He needs to continue to grow and become more poised. Maybe starting teh year w/o the pressure will further his development.

All I care about is we dont come out and look pathetic like we did last year.
