What you see above are the stats of both Gus and David Carr, Hopefully this is the tip of the ice berg that alows everyone to see that David Carr is not the answer to our problem. Reguardless of thier age and experience we need a sure bet. I just read a thread about a trade of Ricky Williams for David Carr. IMHO Ricky will do more for us than Carr will. Their stats are pretty much the same what does that tell you dont predict the future of the Dolphins unless the Qb wearing a miami Jersey turns out to be Manning. Remember Gus is pretty much knowledgable when it comes to our offencesive scheme when Carr would come in Blind.

Carr is a former #1 pick... a young quarterback behind one of the worst offensive lines in NFL history. Gus is not even a has-been, he's a never-was.

Carr has the potential to be a pro-bowler. Gus has the potential to be in a broadcast booth by August.

It's not even a legitimate question, really.

It's like asking would you rather date Jessica Alba or Bea Arthur.

I'm not saying he's my first choice, but he would be so much better for the Dolphins, it's not even comparable.

Akili Smith and Tim Couch are also young former 1st overall picks. That doesn't make them any better than most 3rd string QB's.

I would bet my left testicle that for NEXT YEAR, if you put Gus and Carr on this team Gus would have a better record. Now a couple years down the road when Guss skills deteriorate and Carr develops then it's a whole different ball game. My thing is I just haven't seen ANYTHING out of Carr to show me he is a starting quality QB.

I know he has the offensive line issues. That's a legitimate issue. But I can't say he's a world beater because he plays behind a bad line. You actually have to succeed or show something. If you put me in the NFL on the worst team behind the worst line and bad skill players and I sucked would that mean I'm a great player because I sucked on a bad team and got no help?

I'm not saying Carr sucks but he needs to prove that he's good. After 3 years in the NFL the burden of proof lies on the player.

At least you and Lance Armstrong would have something to talk about.

1- Gus's skills won't "deteriorate" because that implies the existence of skills to begin with. He's a 71 rating QB who can muscle his way all the way up to being one of the five worst quarterbacks in football. 28th.

2- It's not a matter of Carr developing, it's a matter of getting him on a team where he won't get killed. He'd be better than Gus on Day Two of Quarterback camp.

I'm really not sure what you're talking about... you do know that Carr was better THIS YEAR than Gus, right? He completed over 60% of his passes and earned a 77 rating. Gus had a 71 behind a MUCH better line and better offense.

Really, it's not even close. Seriously.

I'd like to have Carr on our team.....nobody knows how good he can be since he's been playing for a horrible team. Now put him behind a better o-line like ours(and is gonna be better next year)and then CC,Booker,Randy,Ricky and Ronnie and I think he'd be a fine QB for us.I think we've seen as good as we're gonna get with Gus.He'll make some plays and he'll miss some more. He's an average QB.I don't think we should bring in another veteran tho cos we'd do just as good with Gus....but when you get a chance to get a young QB with the talent that Carr has then you need to look into it.

Ozzy rules!!

Just like the meaning of San Diego, we'll have to agree to disagree.

Not sure what you mean about San Diego, but saying Gus is better than Carr is really unsupportable... he was worse this year with better everything.

Arguing Gus is better than Carr is mind-bogginly insane.
