theres no question gus should be the starter of aj. are we going to win a aplyoff game with either qb no, but gus us the better choice over aj. gus has experiance both in the nfl and in scott's offense. gus is more accurate and makes better decsions then aj. i like aj's heart but he isnt a qb and theres just another mistake or bad move by wanny, giving up a 2nd round pick for him when in fact you would be lucky to get a 5th rounder for him.

ricky and ronnie in the same backfield i dont know about you all but im excitited. ronnie is the furutre no question about it but ricky is getting better every game. what sucks is he will miss the 1st 4 games but im looking at it as giving him time to put back on his weight he lost and getting fully ready. plus it gives ronnie a stage all to himself with no one really challenging him for the job besides ricky. but come the 5th game of the year i expect to see ricky and ronnie both in the backfield.

david boston a healthy david boston should be a nice contribution to marty, randy and chris. usuing boston's speed and size should really help open up the offense.

The BEST player who give the team confidence... and a chance to win should start. Im sure who ever is the leader in the lockerroom and with coaches will be ther QB.

The more I hear Saban talk... stats have very little to do with the evaluation process.... or so he likes us to believe. I believe he's looking for a guy to form the team... move the team downfield into scoring range and turn them into points whether it be on the ground or in the air.

Gus Frerotte is 34 years old. He has never been a very good QB. At best, he is a decent backup QB. He is not going to lead us to any success this season, or in the future.

AJ Feeley is 28 years old. In his one chance as a starter for a good team, his record was 4-1. He has very little experience, even counting college. Because of his age, and his lack of experience, there's a chance that he could get better. A lot better. The same cannot be said of Gus Frerotte. For that reason, AJ should be given every opportunity to show what he is capable of. I'm sorry, but last year's offense was so pathetic, that you can't count last year as him having a chance to prove himself. And even in that pathetic excuse for an offense, he did show a lot of improvement by season's end. A year with Frerotte as our starting QB is a lost year for our franchise. And if it means drafting a rookie QB next year, then it's likely 3 or 4 lost seasons while we wait for the young QB to develop. The only hope this franchise has for being seriously competitive in the next 3-4 years is if AJ Feeley develops into a quality starter this season. That's why I don't want to see us waste any games with Gus Frerotte at QB.

This is one of the biggest points of debate. Many argue that Gus is not very accurate. I happen to agree with the AJ supporters in that if they are equal, then AJ should start. I also tend to believe that they are pretty much equal at this point. At any rate, let it all begin ...

I would agree with the premise of the first post had Gus not been horribly inaccurate the last two games. He really has played this thing back into a controversy.

weeeeeeeeeeee another one weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Bottom line: Gus is an average QB. We know that, have always known that, he is NOTHING special. He has proven over the years thats what he is. Average.

The jury is still out on AJ. We dont know if he is another average one or not.

The mere fact that Gus KNOWS the system and he still hasnt flat out beat AJ tells me the entire story. Gus had a HUGE advantage starting training camp over AJ and right now we are still head to head? That says something right there.

So basically do you want an average QB or to take a chance on an unknown who couldnt get beaten flat out by a guy who knows this system?

Gus Frerotte is more accurate?? Okay if you say so!!!!!

Comical isn't it. I stopped reading his post at that point.

gus is a waste of time, he sucks and always will. Does that make AJ better, of course not. But atleast he's got a chance to grow. 12 years is more then enough time to realize someones potential. I say Gus's time has run out.

YUUUSSSSSSSSSS!!

Another Qb controversary-arguing-OMGzers!!!1111!! he is teh awesomestist....thread

I don't think it makes that big of a difference. Both their QB ratings are about the same. We just don't have our QB of the future yet. I believe Gus will commit more T/O's though.

What are you basing your opinion of AJ on ?? Last season ?? 1 preseason game this year (that he started) ?? Gus has the decided advantage of system knowledge and still can't grab the job. Gus won't win us any playoff games. If you have ever followed his career, you'd see that everytime he got the opportunity to start on a regular basis, he tanked it. He seems to have good runs, 2 or 3 games while in relief of someone else, but no consistency over the course of a season...that has been proven wherever he has been. Gus is what he is...a career backup.

AJ has no real past...I don't know that he is going to prove to be a great, or even a good QB, but he has more upside than Gus has right now. If AJ proves himself, once given the starting job outright, then great and if he proves to not be the man, fine...we'll know for sure...right now though, we don't....I won't get into the 2nd rounder thing for a QB again...but that is a weak argument. The fact is that he has not gotten the chance yet...

I am excited about R&R too, but remember that Ricky is one toke away from being gone (either by suspension or by quitting again). But, if things stay the way they've looked since Ronnie reported...it'll be exciting...

I am also excited about Boston...If he stays healthy, he'll be our #2 reciever soon and opening things up for CC on the other side...
