Wouldnt you think, that if the offense was overly vanilla, he would have had a higher passing completion percentage? I cant forsee Gus turning into an all-pro overnight after not scoring a single TD in the preseason (I dont count the fluke TD in the Bears game)

Perhaps it was planned for Gus to go in and fire away, throwing medium to long range passes. Maybe it was expected that he'd have a lower completion percentage because of it. It was preseason!! Anything could have been planned. As for me, I focus on how many of those plays were there to be made. Which tells me that we had been and will continue to practice them. Gus' timing will be better and we will see some big pass plays. But we'll mix it up with screens, swing passes, TE quicks. etc. The Dolphins win this game handily....my opinion....we'll see Sunday

The key to our playing well will be the offensive line. If they can open holes for our RBs and protect Gus, we will be very competitive.

We ahve gotten a lot of negative publicity and the media says we stink, but the Vegas line is still only 41/2 points. The smart money knows we are not that bad. One or two good breaks in the game will make us a winner.

The offense is less than vanilla during preseason. I think we will all be surprised by how well we do when we open it up. There will be a huge difference Sunday

I think...no...I know, Saban has been extremely devious with what he has revealed this preseason. I hope S-Cal is correct and would not be surprised to see his prediction come true. It's in the hands of the o-line.

The line is 5 with most books. Even 4.5 translates to a minimum of 10.5 in denver and considering its early september in humid miami that line would probably be 11.5 in denver. There really isnt any respect being shown by vegas for us

4.5 is still 4.5 not 11.5. There is money on both sides and that keeps it where it is.

I believe the line opened at 3 or 3.5. The money is coming in on Denver. Whether that's "smart" money or not will have to be seen. This is a line that by Sunday will probably be 6.

Where is Fred Gibson?

I heard and saw that we signed Fred Gibson to the PS but i wasnt sure if he made the upgrade to roster since Thompson is gone. can anybody let me know?

....because he has a great supporting cast. He can get the ball to the playmakers and keep it away from the defense. If our O-line is improved over last year even marginally it will make a big difference. Gus will hit some big plays to Chambers and Boston. Booker will have the most catches of the WRs. Welker will even contribute from the slot. Those long passes Gus was missing a few weeks ago - he will be hitting some of them. We WILL attack Denver both in the air and on the ground. Don't look for conservative ANYTHING. For the first time in a VERY VERY long time, we have a team that WANTS TO GO TO WAR for their coach. And they will be determined to win each battle and ultimately win the war. Look for a few typical end-arounds and few other plays of trickery. But for the most part, Miami will take it right at them. We will be balanced and aggressive. We will take several shots down field. Keep your eyes open for one of the prettiest long TD passes you've seen in a long time.
I predict that Gus will go over 300 with 2 TDs. R.Brown will run one in. Brown will have a very good day, gaining around 125 yards of total offense.and will be at least effective enough to keep Denver off balance and respecting the run. Ironically, our passing game will be what wins this game. I'm going with 27-13. Our defense is going to be MUCH better than any of us have anticipated. We're going to see some awesome tricks. I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that we will lead the league with the best turnover ratio.

Now...SHOOT!

I hope your right. I am excited for this game. If Gus gets his timing down, we could hit some big plays which would open up things for Brown on teh ground. I am also nervous and not as confident as you as Gus wasnt missing by just a little bit, his was missing the whole barn. That usually isnt corrected overnite. But I hope it was corrected, we will need Gus to make plays to win.

Like I said I really hope you are right.

rule 1 if you talk trash at least know what your talking about. TE that sucks, yeah he was only the 3rd best TE in the AFC. And in my opinion he is still better than shockey, who is way overrated. Yes I know shockey is NFC just saying my opinion on him too.

And about the original thread and completly ignoring the rest of the stupid bronco fans comments, Gus better get atleast his B game in this week so we can win. A game will be nice but not a D game like he was showing.

And to add one more comment, dolphins 2 years ago should have been in the playoffs if it wasnt for the stupid tie breaker rule. We were the better 10-6 team and probably would have made the 2nd round in 2002. But whatever let the (donkey synonym)s get over confident about us, ask the pats how that turned out.

yeah i agree shockey is way over rated he shines every once in a while but consistent he is not. but what i was saying about your tight end i meant i dont think hes a real threat with either dj or ian covering and with our good screen coverage it would make guss throw to the wide outs and im confident in our secondary

I will give you this much you are a hell of a lot more optimistic right now than i am. Especially with Gus running the offense. The guy wasn't exactly great in preseason. And i know that him playing like crap wasn't planned because he was fighting for the starting spot with AJ . So I know both of them should have tried their best to get into the end zone. That is what preseason is about.

I am not so sure we will be winning by Gus's arm though.

I hope you are right and I hope we do play good and beat the ponies.
