Guy Benjamin and Kyle Mackey...
Two of the more unheralded quarterbacks to play for our proud franchise.
Guy Benjamin was a high draft pick in the late 70s who was being groomed to be Bob Griese's heir apparant. Despite being a 2nd round pick from Stanford, 1st team All-American and a Heisman candidate, Benjamin didn't work out for us and was traded to New Orleans. His final NFL stats read "3 TD passes, 3 INTs".
Kyle Mackey was (I believe) an undrafted FA from East Texas State and was the starting QB for Miami in 1987 during the players' strike. He actually holds a record for Miami for fourth or fifth most pass attempts in a game (unfortunately it was against the Jets and he threw 5 INTs).
Not much information is on the net about these guys and since they were a little before my time, I was wondering if anyone had any game photos or info on either one of them.
