Guys can we all be REALAPHISHSTICK

The best thing about this situation is our new coach KNOWs about what you get fron Flynn. If we go for him it will be because OUR caoch believes in him, not beacuse of two spectacular games.

This!!

I don't think we have to push out Matt Moore....just bring in some competition at the QB spot. I see Moore as the likely starter, unless we sign Flynn, and then the two can compete for the starter spot.

If Miami signs Flynn it won't be to compete for a starting job. Although you may like Moore, Philbin will want his guy and all signs point to Flynn being that guy. If you really watch Flynn and his pocket awareness, presence and accuracy you'll see he has a much higher ceiling then Moore has shown.

As for a trade yes, the Packers could work out a sign and trade deal if they want compensation for him. I seriously doubt they franchise him and escalate his base salary more then 6 mil over Rodgers.

no one is going to franchise a backup qb and pay him 15mill + to ride the bench. i dont see why we just dont take a chance at flynn, he knows the system and the two times hes started he's played well. he has the potential to be so much better than moore who his average at best.

I think most would agree that Matt Moore played respectably down the stretch this season, but was he lights-out? Has he flashed any sign of elite talent?

To me there's no reason to think a healthy Chad Henne coming into his own couldn't still push Matt Moore(just being honest).

If Matt Flynn is brought in however, it's because our coach (do i even need to say he should know him better than anyone else in the league right now?) thinks he's his best shot to win early on. Not saying by any means that Matt Moore doesn't deserve a chance to compete based on his play, but were talking about a new coach who is not obligated to him. Moore doesn't get handed a starting job, he fights for it.

Philbin will do what he thinks gives him the best chance to win fast and show some success early on. If he feels Flynn is good enough to bring over, and will make this transition smoother, then you have to assume Flynn gets named starter. You just don't bring in big name free agents (unproved or not, like it or not, he is one) and say compete with matt moore... you say here's the job, its yours to lose, guys are gunning for you so play well.

don't take this as me saying i want henne, or flynn, or moore, just saying i dont think flynn comes without a starting gig or would be brought over to backup

Moore can't throw the long ball, isn't accurate on deep throws, fumbles alot, and is a wimp under any amount of pressure.

He is not a franchise QB...

I see all the Moore fan boys are worried about Flynn...

pretty much yea especially the fumbling thing. i know the offensive line let up a lot of pressure and sacks, but you gotta hold on to the ball

If Flynn is signed here, I am assuming its because Philbin is pushing for him and knows exactly what he can bring to the table and will be use to the offense Philbin will want to run. Also, if Flynn is signed he would more then likely win the job from Moore. Just because Moore finished the season strong am I in no way just handing him the starting job. Henne, for what I can tell will more then likely be gone out of Miami. I can see him going to the Jets, or possibly to the Seahawks or Chiefs.

You were doing pretty well until you got to "if Flynn is signed, he would more then likely win the job from Moore". That's an incredibly shallow remark to make. FLYNN's resumee consists of exactly TWO professional starts. And he played for an established GB team, w/its solid O-Line and abundance of weapons. MOORE had no preseason, and "back-up QB's reps" until HENNE went down, and not-so-many weapons let alone time to get to know them. And then, there's COLUMBO/CAREY, an Albatross around MOORE's neck!

Sometimes, when I read some of the drivel posted on this site, I wonder how many of you have considered (a) how well MOORE would do in GB, and (b) how well would FLYNN have done in MIAMI last season, with COLUMBO/CAREY guarding his right side? Food for thought, don't you think?

Incredibly shallow! Have you seen any of the games in the last half of the season...? MOORE has thrown completions to MARSHALL and HARTLINE deep often enough for anyone with eyes to see with and a brain. Did you know that MIAMI ranked very high in pass plays over 20 yards?

There! Don't you feel stupid?
