I've read a lot of Tannehill haters compare him to Chad Henne. This comparison could not be further from the truth.

Tannehills 2013 season of 24 Tds, 17 pics and 3900 yards passing is something Henne never came close to.
His projection for 2014 would be 26 TDs 13 pics, 3700 yards passing and an 88 rating is something Henne has not even sniffed...

Chad Henne has never thrown for more than 15 tds in a season, more than 3300 yards and highest qb rating has been 79, the year he was injured and played only 4 games. His rating prior to that was 75....

Henne can't hold Tannehills jock...THill is a much more complete well rounded QB than Henne ever was or ever will be. Never mind the added dimension of his running ability.
Now there is lots of football left to be played, and I still have concerns about his consistency and deep ball, but one thing I think is clear Tannehill is not even close to the kind of ****ty QB Henne is... So let's stop with the ridiculous comparison...

I agree but people won't ever stop. Some people want to see him fail it seems.

We have some finheaven members who hate our QB and our coach with a passion. After yesterday's good performance they will lay low for a short time and the moment a mistake occurs, they have their semi-automatic weapons out and start shooting. They will only be happy when everything in the organization is destroyed.
Rather than recognize that building something great takes time, they think they know better.
Tannehill has the potential to become a very good QB. He just had his very best game as a pro footballer and Lazor appears to be developing him well. Some members of the media like Skip Bayless, Brian Billick (who idiotically compared Ryan to Jamarcus Russell when drafted) and Alex Marvez have all kicked Tannehill since he was drafted. Yes, every NFL team would have liked to get Andrew Luck but we didn't tank the season like the Colts and we have still ended up with a quality young QB.

last i looked, henne doesnt run the option and he certainly cant run.

I wouldn't put any stock into the comparison especially coming from a guy who has the Falcons making the Super Bowl this year.

I think we know he's better than Henne. Marino left such a mark in Miami, Ryan should hope to be compared to him. We've seen Ryan's abilities in spurts, I hope he gets more consistency as he better understands the new playbook. When (Hopefully) Lazor's offense comes second nature to him, the rest of the NFL is in trouble. Or hopefully more importantly the AFC East.

Tannehill passed the eye test from the get go that he was leagues better than Henne

I think it is a fair comparison at this point.

Both have the physical tools to play the position.
Both have major incosistancy problems, they would look good for a game and than terrible the next 2 or 3.
Both have poor pocket awareness. Knowing where to slide in the pocket to avoid pressure.
Both have HORRIBLE deep ball passing skills.
Both were immobile. RT can run but never would, this pissed me off to no end. Looks like this may change.

I see way more similarities at this point. I like RT and am rooting for him to succeed. He is tough and talented, but seems to be lacking the it factor great QB have.

I've had (and still have) some issues with Tanny. But believe me when I say that I am happier than honey boo-boo in a tub of bacon grease to see him play well. Many of us understand he still needs time to develop, and hope that he will.

Most comparisons to Henne are ridiculous, BUT, I have noticed some of my major gripes with Henne surfacing themselves in Tanny.

Henne and Tanny throw a similar ball, frozen rope or nothing. I want to see more touch on the ball from Tanny.

Both have had troubles going deep. I used to think Henne had problems with his eyesight and couldn't see that far downfield. Tanny just need to spend more time playing catch with a moving target.

Lol. I know I don't hold my breath every time Tannehill goes back to throw a passing thinking it is going to be intercepted. Every single time Henne dropped back to pass I said please please please no interception.
