Once and for all guys...We are still in the playoffs. PLEASE LISTEN UP. For anyone who doesnt know for sure, WE STILL HAVE A SHOT! Im in no way no how saying we are going to make it all im saying is that we still have a chance(albeit very very very slim). Theres been a lot of confusion as to if we still have a chance or if we are out completely.
Let me repeat. We are still in it!
Ill try my best to explain it so here goes. Theres two wildcard spots open and Jax have already wrapped on of them up as they are now 10-4 with that win vs san fran today. We at best can go 9-7 as you all know. Now we are left with pitt, SD, KC, and us left battling it out for the last spot. The only way its gonna happen is that we are in a 4 way tie with these teams.
Now the only way we can make it is if these next steps occur and ONLY these things all happen.
1. SD has KC and Denver remaining on their schedule...
SD has to lose BOTH GAMES! This way they will finish with the same record as us. This is very possible and the easiest scenario.
2. KC has SD and Cincy. KC has to BEAT SD next week but LOSE to Cincy in week 17. This way they will also finish with the record of 9-7. Simple enough.
3. Obviously we have to take care of our own business by beating the Titans next week and NE in week 17.
4. Now this is where our chances are shot. The Pittsburg Steelers have to lose their remaining two games to the Lions and the Browns. If and ONLY if they lose both games, there will be a 4 way tie and somehow through some math, we would win the tie break against all the teams. If i remember correctly it comes down to strength of schedule and the teams we beat were better overall then the teams pitt beat.
If any and i mean ANY of these EXACT Situations dont play out perfectly, EX. SD winning another game, KC winning 2 games, Pitt winning 1 game, or we lose 1 game, everything would be over and we are out mathematically.
So if there are any questions remaining STILL feel free to ask and ill try my best to answer them
