Reality is that we need C-pep to start this game if we want any chance at winning. Joey may play decent, but he doesn't have experience with the offense, it will be like a rookie QB starting. Honestly, I like Daunte better, but if we were to start Joey this would NOT be the game to do it. This is going to end up being the most important game of the season. Not only is it against the pats, but it's going to be the difference between us being 2-3, 1-1 in divisional play, and the pats being 3-2 and 2-1 in divisional play. The flip side is if we lose we will be 1-4, 0-2 in divisional play, and the pats will be 4-1, 3-0 in divisional play. That isn't an insurmountable feat, but it will be very difficult to win every single game. This is pretty much our season here, and if Daunte doesn't perform for a couple more weeks and we are out of the playoff run, I can see us benching him for Joey. However, we need to give the guy with more experience and the better track record the nod because he gives us a chance to win this game.

We will win this game by the way, I believe we will. We have everything to gain by winning this game, and the pats will be looking forward to the bye week. Jason Taylor will be all over Brady.

By the way I saw Jackass 2 last night, and Jason Taylor was in the movie. I was wearing a Welker jersey in the theatre and I flipped out. I was like JT!!!!!!!!!! I basically screamed like a little girl. It made the movie that much better, and it's a sign that we will win.

I agree, but you'll see plenty of people on this board that disagree. Everyone has a right to their opinion, but I agree with you....culpepper should start if he's "ok" to start.

No Joey is a better Qb so he will do just fine.

I'd love to see Joey starting, but you're right- this isn't the game to do it. This should be Daunte's make or break game- if he doesn't perform now, maybe we should seriously consider Joey.

If CULPEPPER is not healthy ... then he shouldn't play ...

He may not have turned the ball over last game ... but his decision making isn't necessarily any better ... meaning, he may be gun-shy and hesitant to make the attempt -- not throwing picks goes both ways.

I'm not saying that HARRINGTON is a better QB, but you just can't say that CULPEPPER, regardless of his health is a better QB; simply 'based' on his past history --- ESPECIALLY, since his 'past history' has meant NOTHING to date thus far this year.

The fact he (CP) said he doesn't want to play the entire game like he does the 4th quarter is enough for me to want to see anyone else in there.

What has he done in the past to tell you that? How do you know?

What he has done in the past with a poor team is better than anything Culpepper has done both this year and last.

You need Ronnie to show up more than Culp. I don't care if Culp throws for 300 yds. 3 td's 0 INT If you can't keep Brady off the field, he can torch your D like he did the bengals.

Exactly what has DC shown you thus far to make you conclude that we have no way of winning if he doesn't start? From what I've seen he's thrown demoralizing int's in the 1st 2 games and as a result he is now hesitant to throw into tight coverage, which he has demonstrated the last 2 games.
Count on BB to constantly change the looks of his coverage and look for a myriad of blitzes from the Pats D. DC will be confused and will hold onto the ball which will result in numerous sacks again.
I'm sorry but I don't see any way we win this game with DC starting. Our chances are unknown with JH and that is the best we got at this point.

And the title has the word reality in it?? You are so crazy. THIS is not the most important game of the season, LAST week was. This game is the first after we fell out of the playoff chase. For us to make the playoffs you have to believe we are going to the pats colts bears jets and bills as well as games vs viks jags and pats at home, and out of those games we are supposed to go without losing 3 more games??? PLEASE take a drink and look in the mirror and tell yourself 3 times,"this season is over, this season is over, THIS SEASON IS OVER!!!!!!! PERIOD!!!!!
What makes you think we can play winning football vs the leagues elite teams when we can't even compete with the bills and texans?? Please before you put the word reality in a thread try and face it yourself. :shakeno:

You forgot to mention the Titans. They actually should have lost that game too were it not for a couple of fortuitous bounces of the football.

How can someone cheer for a team with this kind of mindset?

Joey is probably not the best option to win the game. Joey is just a backup plan in case anything were to happen to Dante Culpepper.
