People that don't care about winning if it gets in their personal way of being right about Chad Henne finally being average at best.

I know you aren't referring to me because I'm sure you read my other posts in this thread? No? Had you, you would have seen I was hoping for different options at QB all off season. I wanted 3 or 4 different guys throughout the offseason (that I liked better than Henne). I didn't want to see him back as our starter but it didn't work out that way. You say you're sick of losing, but wouldn't you also be sick of wasting high round draft picks on QBs? Especially ones that are highly likely just a win or 2 of a difference from what we have already? I would love to have a franchise qb (Orton isn't that), would love to be a contender year in and year out, and I plan on seeing a Super Bowl victory (hopefully multiple) in my lifetime. So, what I'm saying is, there is another option out there for a very high price, but why would you want to spend that when you're hoping to land Luck next year anyways? Our defense wont let us lose 14 games, so.. Which way do you want it?

*And I was being sarcastic about emailing the FO..

Did I say you?

:idk:

No, we're not going to lose enough games to land Andrew Luck. If it were to happen, then great.

Would losing enough games to land Luck be worth it if Luck could take us to these multiple Super Bowls that you speak of? I certainly believe so. It's no different than spending money to make money. You can spend your money but there's no guarantee you're going to make any. But regardless, people still spend their money in hopes of making money. Now, obviously, we're not going to tank the season for Luck. And our defense is certainly one of the best in the league so we're looking at another option.

Either your defense if good enough to compete at a championship level that you go out and sign a middle-of-the-pack such as Orton who is CLEARLY better than Chad Henne. Or, you go into the season with Henne as your QB, finish between 7-9 and 9-7 and hope the draft pick is good enough to land a guy like Landry Jones, or you take your draft pick and move up to get a guy like Landry Jones or Andrew Luck. But drafting second rate college QB's in the middle rounds isn't working. We've demonstrated that year after year. Time to do something different.

This is a QB league. Look around. Check the playoff teams. Check the Super Bowl participants. They all have star QB's. We don't. That's why we do things around the house in January instead of watch the Dolphins in the playoffs.

I agree with everything you said there. But giving up another 2nd rounder for Orton I don't think is worth it. I've said in previous posts that I would have called a 3rd (preferably a 4th) for Orton a good move, but not the 2nd and a player that Denver is asking for now. I understand all your concepts, but I've never agreed with booing a particular player who was given the opportunity to play. Again, it's his fault that he sucks, but it's not his fault that he is our best option.

I never specified what I was willing to give for Orton.

I would not be in favor of a second round pick. And I think they were accurate with offering a fourth round for Orton.

But if next season you're back in that 15th spot of the draft and you know that Landry Jones is going to go between 8 and 12...you make the move with your first and second rounder if need be.

We can all keep hoping that Chad Henne finally gets it and becomes this superstar but I live in reality. We never get better in pretendland so it's best for those who continue to pile all of their eggs in the Chad Henne basket just stop right now and move forward. Life as a fan becomes much easier when you do so. There was a time when I would have defended Chad Henne as well. But when you look at other teams in the league who can their terrible QB, go out and find a good one and begin winning, you then begin to understand that defending trash just isn't worth it anymore.

MOORE is d**k. He always has been d**k, and always will be d**k. ORTON is also d**k, always was d**k, and always will be d**k. But ORTON is EXPENSIVE d**k: kind of the "Delmonico" of d**k. (Still, d**k is d**k is d**k!!!) HENNE bashers are also d**k, always were d**k and always will be d**k. Those fans at the stadium are stuffed filet of d**k, the stuffing being s**t. They were always so, and will always be s**t-stuffed d**k, and nothing more. They don't deserve a football team. May they, each of them, collectively, drop dead. Better yet, let them become JESTS fans, and one and all, collectively, suck the Fat Boy's d**k...or maybe Fireputz Fred's.

You do realize that the word "dick" is not censored by our profanity filters, right? :chuckle:

(so long as you're not calling another poster one, it's cool)

The team we are all crying about having to play doesnt . . . The Jets. . .Sanchez can get to two AFC championship games

People just refuse to give credit where credit is due. Mark Sanchez is a pretty good QB. He is light years ahead of Henne.

and their defense WAS light years ahead of ours, along with their coaching and front office. not to mention that they actually seem to get results when they bring in Olinemen and not just waste money and play musical chairs with cornfed slobs.

its like this...no one can really say henne has any competition in camp. This is a recipe for disaster. We have an average qb that is the starter by default. The FO broght no one in that has more talent than henne. If Henne fails this season is a wash and right now Henne doesnt look like a starter. All of the qbs in FA were better than Henne, we ended up with matt moore and devlin..2 unproven players in the nfl. matt moore is gonna beat out henne and mat moore is nothign special.

not light years but obviously gets the job done..way more respected by his teammates, and plays with a chip on his shoulder..but he isnt much more talented than henne.

i think the only area henne gets sanchez is obvious, arm strength. both have **** for accuracy but sanchez seems to make plays and is a million miles ahead of lead footed henne athletically. i see him as the lesser of 2 evils in this case.

He's definitely much more talented than Henne. The "problem" with Sanchez is that he was drafted by the Jets.

Had he been drafted by Seattle we'd all look at him the way we look at guys like Josh Freeman and Sam Bradford. Young, athletic, very talented young kids with a very high ceiling.

i feel like i should insert random homophobic joke about sanchez being flamboyant here...forgive me if it is in poor taste.

My defense for Henne only goes as far as not booing the man during a practice and chanting for another QB to be playing that isnt on our roster. You think Henne feels like he's doing well at this point? Do you think he is happy when he overthrows a receiver or throws a pick? I'm sure he wants to make that throw a lot more than you want him to make that throw. Miami BETTER get a franchize QB next offseason, that's my opinion. It's BEEN my opinion since last offseason. I don't live in a fantasy land when it comes to how good or not good the players on our team are. I'm one of the most unbias (yet supportive of those on the field) fan you'll ever meet. Show me where I've said "give Henne another shot". You won't find it anywhere. This whole convo started by me saying how disgusting it is the way our fans acted at practice yesterday. By saying fans are classless for chanting another player on another team to be our QB, that doesn't mean I think Henne is still the Miami Dolphins answer at QB. That would be a false assumption.

the best thing about this thread is that we are not debating the fact that henne sucks, were debating the fan behavior caused in part by his failures. at least we can all agree he sucks balls.
