Jonathan Vilma is "very very close" to becoming a New Orleans Saint, according to the Washington Post.

The Redskins reportedly "sniffed around" Vilma, but never showed serious interest. The Lions were also hot after Vilma, but have less incentive to offer draft picks, assuming that's what the Jets were looking for.

I would love to have Vilma in Miami, but the Jets would charge us an arm and a leg since we're in the same division. I'm pretty sure that since the Saints couldn't get their hands on Zach that they'll offer up something good to Vilma and bring him in.

He can't play in the 3-4. He produced pretty good statistic season but overall did not have the same impact as he did in the 4-3. Hes going to be an absolute monster in the Saints defense. I love Vilma even though I cant stand the Jets.
