Isn't this thread speaking about his football career and not his off the field achievements? Screw JT the player. JT the humanitarian, that's a different story.

Well maybe KARMA is paying a visit to JT now. He wanted off our "****ty team and then what happens?? JT ends up on a ****ty team while we have a legit crack at the playoffs now. I'll bet he wishes he was still with the Dolphins right now
 
Geez, GET OVER IT PEOPLE. He's gone, we're winning. Happy Days! Why be petty and spend more time bantering over what Jason deserves and doesn't deserve. Move on. Bigger and better things ahead.

Technically, that's a point well taken so I'll answer it candidly. Mean-spirited threads like this are intended as a Pandora's Box to vilify him, his sexuality and character as an overreaction to a football decision. I'm wondering how many of those attacking JT for leaving them were as judgemental about a parent, sibling, friend who left their mate for what they perceived as a better option.

Because of the personal attacks, what happens on the field is intertwined with off-field personas - both positive and negative. To that end, I think the essense of JT is relevant to counter the inevitable venomous, often over-the-top attacks (as you can readily observe) of one of our alltime great players who departed due to a mutual business decision that was better for all parties concerned. It's easy to demonize him when you're a 1000 miles away but when you live in his backyard and see what both he and Zoe Mourning so generously do for the large community of needy children here, sorry but it's not that one-dimensional!

Personally I have more problems with cheering on Porter for defending the animal torturer piece of scum Vick and being part of a gang that attacked Levi Brown in the middle of a casino filled with innocent bystanders.. .than I have or will ever have with JT.
 
he gave his all when he was here i think he knew he was done but he could still get some cash respect man you did your job while u were here and got us a pretty nice draft pick in the process thanks

i agree with almost all that but i think it was levi jones.
 
I think it is just ridiculous how people defend these rich cry baby football players.
They get paid millions to play a game. Get over it. Cry over a hungry or dying child.
You guys have way to much personal connection to people who don't even know your name. Probably never will. Just because you watch them on TV doesn't mean they even know who you are or ever will or even care!!!! If they do care at all, it is just as much as they need you to watch the games so they humor you and make you think they give a **** at all.

I'll concede your point; but by virtue of its disingenuity, doesn't it underscore the vacuum-visioned hypocrisy of making someone who's been less than law-abiding off-limits to criticism because he's performing for your favorite team while at the same time vilifying another who's been a role model and a pillar of the community? Maybe it's just a particular hot button with me, but IMO, anyone who attempts to justify or rationalize cruelty to animals for their own gain and entertainment is nothing but a dressed up POS.
