They humiliated us on the ground in the 1st half but we did a tremendous job adjusting at halftime and we really held them in check. For a team with 2 very talented RB's like they have and completely selling out to running I'm pretty happy that we held them to 67 yards on the ground in the 2nd half. That's about what you'd expect in a half in a solid defensive effort but compared to the 1st half that's a herculean effort! And 49 net yards passing for the entire game is pretty darn good. If we could have just gotten a lead early in this game and forced them to throw the ball it would have been a different game.

The next 2 weeks will be a real challenge on the ground and I hope we're ready for it.

Great job tonight fighting for this win boys, we really needed it!

true that.

Gruen said it on the air, we are a 3rd quarter team. ironically a sign of good coaching

With Geno being announced as the starting qb, they should have planned for a run heavy game plan from the start. I'm saddened it took them an entire half to realize that their plan was complete crap and make the proper adjustments.

Agreed it should have been made sooner, but at least it was made. How many teams and even our former coaches were just incapable of making in game adjustments?

yup exactly.. i started another thread about this.. why do you have to make an adjustment when you should've started this way..

coyle was stunting our DE's on a run team early.

really? wtf?

Coyle likes to outsmart himself sometimes. The saints game last year rings a bell. Stunting the d-line right out of plays over and over.

The only thing worse than taking so long to adjust is the fact that it wasn't the game plan from the beginning. I'm really starting to dislike Coyle as the DC. Odrick was furious with the play calling in the first half and he had a right to be.

The defensive game plan the past 2 weeks has been terrible.

Adjustments need to be made in the first half. It was not a complicated adjustment.

Against a good team we're toast if we can't make an adjustment before halftime.

Seriously, I don't get this halftime adjustment crap. How much really happens at the half that couldn't happen during the game while the offense is on the field or visa versa. Seems like a communication / discipline issue to me. Stop watching the other side of the ball and start coaching / listening to your coach.

We need to run the ball more. Miller avg 4.3 a carry and had some good 7 to 8 yard runs. This offense is at it's best when we are balanced. Tonight I think we ran the ball 18 times. That's not enough.

Yeah, half time adjustments are BS. Just 'cause the Dolphins lead the league in 3rd quarter points; that means nothing. It's just smoke and mirrors, right?

That game was all about Rex saying FU to Idzik. Force me to start Geno this is what you get. there's no other explanation, Miami loaded up the box and the worst QB you can find(which may be Geno) can still make plays in the pass game under those circumstances.
