Hall Trade done...good news for the Dolphins?

they seem to be stock piling draft picks to rebuild, just as we are. I wouldn't expect them to give up picks to move up. JMO

I honestly don't think that this trade will benefit us. I think Atlanta will go defense with their #3 (selecting a QB in the 2nd round) and I don't think that other rumor of the Raiders unfranchising Asomugha has any legs. I hope I'm wrong on both counts, I just don't see us catching any breaks from this.

Two ways to look at this...If you were the owner...what would you do? Take the QB and a new face for the franchise...or select alot of players in the second round...and still have three average QB's on your roster...three with mostly one year contracts.

The thing is why would Atlanta want to trade up from a spot that they can have Matt Ryan? I think they are going to call our bluff and just wait until 3, and pick Matt Ryan.

Agreed

Wins put fans in the seats, not a "Face of the Franchise".

They need to build a better team and with their new GM and Coach's backgrounds I'd expect them to go defense as well.

Well we have gone over this several times before...so one more time isn't going to hurt...why? Because there's alot more teams looking at the QB position...because between this draft and next years draft...the QB class is weak at best..it's called supply and demand. One thing that is known about the draft, is the unknown can happen and usually does. We are talking about moving up just two spots...it's not like it's going to break the bank...or rob the team of draft picks...they already have two other second rounders.

And pray tell...whom touches the football the most on any team?

And pray tell....who is rated the top player on their board?

Just because Ryan is a QB doesn't mean he's their best option. Come on now Pete I'd expect a better supporting argument than that. ;)

How's this...they have three bums at QB...mostly with one year contracts...the owner took out Ryan for dinner at the combine...and if you just went thru what he did with Vick...would you select a defensive player? Or a QB...and move on. There's nothing out there...other than Ryan...not this year or next...thats seems to be worthy or ready to start...right away.

Added note...look at the person's going to watch him and notice the teams...Kansas City Chiefs coach Herm Edwards, Chiefs GM Carl Peterson, Panthers GM Marty Hurney and Vikings V.P of player personnel Rick Spielman are a few of the top NFL officials attending Boston College's Pro Day.

I don't think Atlanta is hot for Ryan, I think they like Brohm better.
I think Atlanta realizes with the lack of able QBs in the league, Brohm won't make it to the second round. So maybe they are coveting Ryan, a marketing dream for a franchise starved for something positive.

I hope they bite the bait and trade-up. We need the picks!

I do not feel that this will have an effect on our #1 overall pick. However, i DO believe this could have an effect on our #32 pick. If the rumors that atlanta is high on Dorsey and choose to draft him at 3, they will be in the market now for both a solid QB and CB, which will most likely be available at our 32 pick, but not necessarily after (we obviously need both, so i wouldn't put it past us using that 32 on a qb or, more likely, cb.) therefore, atlanta may try to package their top 2nd rounder and houston's second rounder to move up to 32, or something along those lines. If i were them, i wouldn't do it-- 4 picks in the top 48 is insane, they definitely stand to have a huge draft day as is. at what cost sure, they gave up a possible franchise qb in schaub and a talented but disgrunted CB in hall, but they can get a new crop of 4 young studs to be the future of their team

Thats more like it. :D

I definitely wouldn't be surprised if they took Ryan. I just think their defense needs much more help and their new GM and Coach come from defensive backgrounds. There have been rumors that they are very high on Dorsey as well. The risk of taking a QB that high and him busting is probably not something they wanna deal with. JMO.
