Marino years [Star QB]Lots of great passing, (Mediocre RB)mediocre running game.

Ricky Williams years [Star RB]lots of great running,(Mediocre QB)mediocre passing game.

2009 [Star RB's]lots of great running backs,(Mediocre QB)mediocre passing game.

What does this organization have against having a star RB and a star QB at the same time? Most of your superbowl teams have a star RB and a star QB. Most every successful team has both to create balance. The last time we had it we won the superbowl. It killed me to watch these past unbalanced teams with Marino trying to do it all or Ricky trying to do it all. Rather than making a move this team always seems to be satisfied playing handicapped. All the years with Marino why not trade up in the first round to get a top 10 RB or trade players to get an already proven one for the man ,same with Ricky needing a QB. Is anyone else tired of this? It is almost looked upon as criminal to expect to have both with this organization

How Marino never had a great RB i'll never know, but as far as the regimes after Shula, its easy: they sucked. Every single coach we've had post-Marino tried to get us a QB with one failure after another. I have faith in this regime, though. We WILL have a QB and our power RB in Brown. Patience, grasshopper. It may not be this year, it might not even be the next, but the Trifecta WILL get our man. Even if by that time its not the Trifecta and we are left with Sporano and Ireland.

Off topic, but what would we call them then?

Well, there’s always Connecticut volleyball...

We've missed a few in recent years, haven't we? :(

Beginning with Drew Brees...(bad HC)

Did we miss any available before him? Wow...that shoulder really did heal well, didn't it?

We need to fix our secondary fast. Rivers and Brees are just two QBs slobbering to throw it deep against us.

Its called taking and using the best talent you have at the time. That is what Shula did and he has really been the face of this franchise. The only other guy to hang around here long enough to have a team of sorts was Dave W and he brought in Ricky Williams. So you have only had 2 coaches that shared a basic philosphy that is find "a" stud and build your team around that idea. I believe Sporano and company are looking for multible threats. See Pat White for example. Yes the running game may appear to be the focus but that nucleus of running backs was already here minus the offensive line when thay arrived so thats what a smart coach would do use the available great talent and enhance it. Chad Pennington is pretty darn good maybe not great but really good for a team like the phins built to run the ball.

The defence is the easiest part to build the quickest which is what we are doing along with the lines. Really a stud WR and TE would really make the difference in this team right now. We may be just a draft away from that also of course with a stud safty.

Look at this roster as see how quickly it has been turned over. Our CB's are going to be very good to great, our running backs really already are, the offensive tackles really are also, the defensive line is looking good, Outside LB has tons of potential and is decent and the kicking and punter are good. You really cannot beat up on Chad Pennington to much either given with what he has to work with.

Really the Safty, ILB, stud WR and TE are the last pieces of the puzzle with perhaps a very guard thrown in for good measure.

They attempted to fix the Safty issue and WR in free agency as a quick fix but that is money out the window for now. They do know what is happening and attempt to fix it.

Not down on Crowder so much except his knees issues but I think he needs more help than Akin who was a backup in Dallas. As our team gets better we are starting to see more of Akins limitations. Simliar to Fasano who is good but needs another threat to help him to be more productive. A stud WR, TE with the safty or lB in the first 4 rounds will fill out this teams need. The TE might even be a higher priority than the WR and the Safty higher then the WR and ILB at least for next year.
