Hands down......Reggie Howard should be the absolute best choice for "Most Hated Dolphin of All-Time". Now, I do understand that the unanimous choice to thus point has been Wanny or Jay, and in alot of ways I do agree.
But wait....... When I saw the passion that this Dolphin team played with for most of the season under Saban's consistent positve positioning and timing to say and do the right things at the right times, something this team has sorely lacked. I transitioned to a fantasy world of seeing the difference that excellent coaching can make. This team wasn't that far away talent wise, though I obviously understood the need for upgrade at QB.
However, we were still in it guys!!! NOBODY wanted to play us at the end of the season. Hauck had the O-line playing fairly cohesively and the rushing game was on a resurgance when Rick got in the groove. Who knows what could've happened,....NO I don't think we could've taken the championship, but it sure would've been a wonderful ride!!! From the previous record, to the playoffs.....WHAT!!!! I never would've come down!!
We were only a game or two away from standing tall and walking into the playoffs and how many games do you remember we gave away because Mr. Howard decided to miss that key tackle or get his *** burnt.....Pisses me off to even think about it. There was no hiding him, teams found him on the #1 or #2 reciever, or forced us to go nickle (thus still putting him on the darrrnnnn field!!!).
He was terrible, we over spent on his contract , but the entire regime at that time was "horrific"! So that was par for the course. But, isn't there? Or shouldn't there be some sort of pride to put that uniform on in that stadium on that day??? Guys like me stop everything when the 'Phins are playing,..... to have the honor of wearing that jersey in front of football psychos like ourselves..... it would be time to ball.....all the time!!!
But it was Reggie Howard ,Finheaveners, that ruined that good feeling in the end. Really think about it and you'll realize my point. I'm a nu school Dolphan I was born in '72 and I need some new material around the water cooler, if u know what I mean!??
Cashman, out!!!!!!!
