Hanging of onto False Hopes in Pittsburgh....?

Damn, I'm not going to bash the OP but it seems y'all have reason to.

Pitt fans should be the freaked out ones now. Injuries, coming off a loss, playing a D that is tops in the league in most important categories, and an O that can distribute the ball to any WR. That vs our freak out - putting up a bunch of yards but not being able to punch it in - seems a lot harder to fix.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a cake walk, but we should have the edge here.

Nobody makes our offense look inept. That's why I thought we had a shot against Carolina, and would probably outclass the Jets and their rookie quarterback, despite their defensive front. It's a very strange dynamic because our offense is clever and efficient enough to put up 20ish points against anyone, but somehow we aren't arrogant or explosive enough to manage 30 no matter who we play. Makes no sense. I'm glad I don't have to do a dissertation on it.

Our defense might be regaining energy and confidence right now, and determined to play with high intensity every week. They have underachieved and no doubt are somewhat embarrassed. Regression to the mean works in that direction also. There's no reason our defense should have allowed 20+ points in so many games.

I really don't think we would have allowed 20+ so often if our offense had run the ball an intelligent number of times. I'm not sure we learned any lesson last week. I had to laugh when Philbin said after the game that Miami doesn't need to be throwing the ball 50 times per game. Apparently that's his cutoff. The only reason we had room for so many passes and runs last week was the bizarre time of possession edge. That won't happen often. Philbin needs to realize that 25+ rushes are an absolute necessity, regardless of number of passes or how many yards we gain rushing.

I was impressed that Philbin said the Dolphins needed the early rushes against the Jets, even if they weren't successful. It's the first time I've ever heard him express that type of clarity.

Hope is never false.

It is a good thing...maybe the best of things.

And no good thing ever really dies.

Go Fins.

Could not be more fed up with seeing the term "false hope" on this site. So many soothsayers on this site.

Geez... "false hope"... you gotta be ****ing kidding me. We have as good of a chance to get the final wild card as anyone around our record.

In fact, if you compare our remaining schedule to Baltimore who has a tiebreaker over us
Miami - @ Pittsburgh, NE, @ Buffalo, NYJ
Baltimore - Minnesota, @ Detroit, NE, @ Cincinnati

I like our chances just fine.

your title makes it sound like you are talking about Pittsburgh having false hope. You should stand in their shoes and feel their misery. Its more than you think. tomlin desperate enough to interfere with a guy streaking down the sideline about to score.

Interesting you should bring up Tomlin's theatrics. Judging by the smirk on his face, he knew damn well what he what was doing.

His Mea Culpa today was complete & total utter grade A farm fresh bull plop.

The league will make it up to putzburgh. Say; does anyone know where Streatore and his crew of thieves will be this Sunday?

I have an odd feeling that calls in this Sunday's game will make the ones in the pats game earlier this year look "fair" & rational.

I can no longer tell if the "fans" who start these threads are real fans, or Jets fan trolls in disguise. Finheaven seems to have hit an all-time low.

Dolphan1 gives up on his team every week. He's even gone so far as hoping Tannehill would get hurt so Moore or Devlin get a chance .

This guy is out of his mind.

Why attack me, when I tell it like it is, like Howard Cosell...?

I would never hope for Tannehill to get injured or any other player on this team.

When the season concludes, lets just see who is right.

Do I want us to win, yes, do I want us to make the playoffs, yes, but we blew opportunity after opportunity and we don't deserve it, unless we win these next 4 in a row.

For starters we don't need to win the next 4 to get in.

Secondly, your posts all suck! And yes you've made comments about Tannehill getting hurt so Devlin or more can play.

You tell it like it is? Tannehill is BY FAR the best qb on this team, bar none. You're telling it like you see it, not how it really is.

Garbage in, garbage out. That summarizes your posting history.

I think fans like you have a side that want us to lose just so you can be right. We make the playoffs? You're back on the bandwagon. We miss the playoffs? "I told ya so." Win-win.

We don't need to win all 4 games. If we do , we're in I'm sure. But 3-1 is very doable and could very well get us in. 2-2, though unlikely, could still get us in, just depends on the rest of the field.

You're not telling it like it is.

We are still alive if we lose in Pittsburgh and a win would put us in really good position to make it.

Do you even know what your talking about? NO you don't!! they don't need to win out, their in a ****en tie for the last playoff spot with Baltimore . the Pitt game is almost like a playoff game and there is 4 weeks still left. They can easily make the playoffs as long as them and Baltimore don't end up in a tie when the season is done. Miami still 90% controls their destiny. You make it sound like they need all kinds of help. Don't come on here with this negative BULL**** im already pissed they are not televising the ****en game in my area.

The Pittsburgh game is a playoff game (for them), so they will be doing their best. It's sad that the game is so big. I have not seen many people that believe Miami will make the playoffs if they lose. Me included. That is sad because not many people believe we can handle our own division, because those are the last three games. I think Miami can beat Pitts however and I think they can make the playoffs. I also think they would be the worst team in the playoffs, but I will cheer for this young team to get some playoff experience.

Not true, I guarantee you we wont make the playoffs this year and I will still me a fan, this year and next year, as a matter a fact, I wore a Dolphins jacket to a game tonight, the new logo.

If I am wrong, then I am a bad predictor of our seasons and it will be a blemish on my accuracy, and I have been perfect, the only exception was Chad Pennington, I was wrong here.

I will always be a Miami Dolphins fan.

I see it as being very simple... Pittsburgh is a MUST win... all playoff hopes are hinging on this game.. New England is NOT a must win, we can lose that game and still make the playoff, but a loss to the Steelers and its all over fella's

Spot on.
