So exactly 1 year ago on Saturday night all of the Ricky retiring stuff came out.
I think 99% can agree that before this day we all thought he was an important asset to the team and we all liked him

Hopefully this thread will not be how you feel now but how you felt in the first 2-3 hours of hearing this

I found out by going on the Herald message board. I quickly called my buddy who is also a Dolphins fan and he told me that this does not seem a joke. I hang up and searched everywhere thinking this can't be true and this has to be a contract or Wanny thing. I was in denial and it took a good week before it started to sink in
 
i was actually making fun of my friend (a giants fan) who was talking about jeremy shockey. he then goes "oh yea, sorry about ricky" and of course he told me what had gone down. I was distraught, and dare i admit this, a little depressed. But life goes on.
 
I remember what happened very well that Sunday morning. I woke up and i went on KFFL to check the news and i saw that Minor was likely going to be the starter. I thought that maybe Ricky got hurt and will miss the time or he got suspended for something. So i scrolled down and it said that Ricky has retired. I was very shocked to here this because i had all kinds of Ricky stuff in my room. I kept the stuff up for about 3 days just to see if he was just bluffing about quiting. As the days go by he still was retired, so i put every Ricky stuff i had in a bag and i threw it in my closet.

A local rock station in Miami (Formerly 94.9 ZETA) had a Ricky Williams Merchandise Bonfire after that happened :rofl3::rofl3::rofl3::lol::lol::lol:
 
I was on vacation and had no idea until my nephew came down and said sorry about ricky. I had no idea what he was talking about then he told me ricky retired. I thought I was on Candid Camera and wating for the ounch line. He said no I'm serious. I ran to the tv and put on espn, there it was. Needless to say it ruined my vacation.

This is a family message board I can't post those words on here!

I woke up at like 2am, went to ESPN.com and saw the headline. Knew our season was over right then and there before it had started.

F' Ricky then. F' Ricky now. F' Ricky FOREVER!
 
Wow I remember that Sunday my brother (giants fan) woke me up and told me and I went back to sleep, thinking it was BS, got up a bit later found out, left the house without saying a word and ate chinese food all day in depression
 
I basically was confused when I heard Ricky retired.
I just bought ESPN NFL 2K5 and I was rushing 750-yard games with Ricky still in the game so I was in an another world with that :rofl3:
I heard we were 2-2 in the preseason, and there was one player who broke off a huge TD run in one of the games? :confused:
I thought we'd be A-OK....

Then I blamed the Hurricanes...

then I blamed Ricky....

then I accepted defeat. :cry::cry::cry:

i was on a freakin airplane, on the way to florida in the early am i believe. nice start to a vacation
 
I woke up to my dad tellin me that I think that was the last time i cried, well... the OU/USC game! :cry:
