ok... all i hear is he had 3 recievers that were 1st round picks and still couldn't win games... ok here's the question... who says the 3 recievers are so great??.. they haven't showed me anything and none of them have made the pro bowl... just because your a 1st round pick doesn't mean you will be a great player... i know rodgers has had a tough career with the injuries and roy williams shows talent.. but they still aren't great players yet... was it joey's fault?? maybe.. maybe not.

Yeah....

But you can't dispute the fact that Joey played terribly. That's not to say that it was all his fault, but he showed very little to make me believe he could ever be a starting NFL quarterback. Thank god we have Daunte whom on the other hand has shown all it takes to be a great NFL QB. I hope Joey is a decent backup for us, but Nick Saban knows he is just a short term solution to a short term problem. If Daunte ever goes down, at least we have an experienced backup instead of throwing Cleo out there to the wolves.

yea i completely agree, what says that they cant be busts...i know that they all have shown talent and esspecialy in college but joeys not the only qb on the lions who found difficulty connected with his recivers but when jeff garcia was put in to replace harrington he would constantly get annoyed and frustrated with his wrs

not only that, but you got to look at the
O-Line and the management...

well, i dont know about mike williams/charles rogers, but i truely believe Roy Williams would be a top 10 WR with a good QB. Lions locker room had alot of problems last year, so the jury is still out on mike williams. As for Charles Rogers, he actually looked pretty good before he broke his collarbone......twice

Roy Williams is going to be great. Williams from USC Im not totally sure about yet and Charles Rogers may be out of DEtroit this year if not already. But the bottom line on DEtroit is management and they have always had a management problem. They are like the new Cincinnatti Bungals.

Charles Rogers is ALWAYS hurt. Mike Williams got shifted to TE. The O-Line was crap. And NO running game.

Which two do they win? Chambers and Booker have both been to the Pro Bowl. That leaves M. Williams with one year of NFL experience versus Hagan who has yet to play a NFL game.

Detroit had many more problems than WR. That was just one of them. They have no OL and as bad as their offense seemed at times, the D, overall was even worse. The biggest problem was that they have and continue to be a poor FO/management staff. This is where they lack, not necessarily with talent on the field. Hopefully, the new regime will bring more stability to the organization, but you can't look at Detroit's situation and point at one player, or position of players and say "They are the reason we are bad"....
