There will be a lot here who view this as a good thing.......I don't just because I want as many options as possible for Saban to choose from to fill our backup QB postion.

The Chiefs appear interested enough that they would give the Lions a choice in the first three rounds of next month’s draft if they can work out details of a new contract with Harrington and his agent.

As high as a 3rd round pick?? That's just crazy IMO.

and even if they really like him..........It's 100% certain that he's getting cut by June anyway. they would be complete jackasses to give a first day pick for a player on the outs.

Yeah, a 3rd is way too much to give up for someone who is definitely cut anyway. But I can see why they are interested. They would be smart to get him.

i doubt they give anything higher than a 4th...im guessing it will be either a 4th or 5th for joey

I don't see Harrington being any better than Ramsey and the Jets got him for a 6th...so we shall see...:rolleyes2

that being said I'd still like to get Joey if he's cut, or sign Collins as our backup QB...

From watching him a time or two, I think he makes poor reads against defences. He has the arm, but not the smarts.

I posted something like that yesteday, and there were plenty of Mr. "Know-it-alls" responding to the thread. Including people were saying he has been released. To that, I laugh.

Why not? The Phins gave up a SECOND for Feeley and an alarming number of Dolphins fans were okay with it.

While there really isn't any defending the trade now..........

at the time it was different than this in two ways:

1) AJ was an unknown who won games (or at least didn't lose them) in his limited opportunities. Harrington has had a lot of chances and always failed.

2) Feeley would not have been released if he wasn't traded. Feeley is closer to Schaub than Harrington, in that he was looked at as a kid with a lot of potential. Remember, in 2003, Eagle fans were screaming for AJ to replace McNabb.

wow wcomplete wanny right there
not quite. at least harrington was considered a franchise qb at one time and selected in the top 5 of the nfl draft. heckyl & jeckyl traded a #2 for a #3(qb on philly's depth chart).

but yeah, tough to see KC's logic. by comparison, how good do the phins look giving up a #2 for a superstar?

Even though it obviously was way too much to pay (Many lost their jobs because of it...at least one reason), at least with Feeley there was some mystery of his potential, because he did look good the last time he played, with Harrington, after many years of watching him, there really is no mystery that he is not worth a 3rd or better.
