Lions | Harrington not heading to Cincinnati or Miami?
Tue, 4 Apr 2006 18:48:24 -0700
Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports a Detroit Lions official emailed Tuesday, April 4, that he would not be surprised if Lions QB Joey Harrington wound up somewhere other than Miami or Cincinnati. "There are strong indications of other teams getting interested as we get closer to the draft," said the email from the Lions.

Bull****. That's just the Lions trying to leverage what they want from the deal.

i really think that we will end up getting harrington but im just getting tired of all the waiting and suspense its killing me its like daunte and brees all over again just sign the guy and move on!!!

Not me.... I still want him just as much as I did. Especially since it now looks like we might not have to get into too much of a biding war to sign him. So far no one seems willing to pony up the cash he really wants and the more time he has to think about it the more chance there is that he will realize that Miami is a better situation to play in than his other options.

I'ld like to think we'll still end up with Harrington... I'll take him over Martin any day. I would GLADLY send two seventh rounders for Harrington...

our lowest '06 7th and our '07 6th is a fair deal

nobody is going to pony up a 5th

I know I am getting tired of all the hype about Lavar. I would love to have him on the team I think he would be a good fit. However, I was listening to Sirius NFL Radio today and they were talking about Lavar. They said he wasn't worth the big contract he was asking for and that he needed to establish himself with a team, prove himself and then the contract will come.

They also threw out some stats that were mind blowing to me. Last year he started 13 games, he had only 47 tackles, 8 assists, and 0 sacks.

Julian Peterson played in 16 games had 82 tackles, 25 assists, and 3 sacks.

Junior Seau played in 7 games and had 36 tackles, 18 assists, and 1 sack.

So Lavar played in 6 more games, and only had 11 more tackles than Junior.

To me Lavar needs to lower his asking price until he puts up the numbers that warrant the type of pay he wants. I mean Zack played in 14 games and had 158:eek: tackles, 54 assists, and 2 sacks, and yet he is willing to restructure his contract. I also know that it has been raised that Zack is getting old this and that but he still had a pro bowl season last season, and continues to put up over 100 tackles every year. The last season he didn't have over 128 was 2000, he only played in 11 games and he had 99.
