Harrington isn't half the QB Culpepper is, so he had a solid pre-season so what so did Tony Romo of Dallas and he isn't going to play good if he gets in. Culpepper is a pro bowl QB, rocket arm, very accurate and mobile. his confidence is rattled right now but it will return with good performances in the next two games. As Woody Paige said be careful what you chant about, you want Joey your in for a long year. yes he might be a good fill-in for a couple games but after that we are in trouble

Then play Joey for a couple games to give daunte a chance to prepare himself better. :0

:tantrum: Joey doesnt give us the same chance to win week in week out as daunte.

Let's see what would half the QB of Daunte look like right now...In game one he would throw 4, 4th quarter interceptions instead of 2, 2 or which returned for TDs. In game two, 4 fumbles of the QBs own doing, 14 sacks and throwing to a receiver in the red zone that is surrounded by 8 guys instead of 4. Do you really think Harrington is less than half the QB of Culpepper right now?

Let people publically make fools of themselves right now calling for Joey. All these many threads and posts we can pull out later to embarrass them when Daunte is lighting it up!

I dont give a flying flipping johanesburg who is in there.. so long as the move the team down the field.. with confidence.. and win..

I can see both sides to the opinion. I do know that alot of fans wanted to see Harrington playing in the 4th Qtr against the Jills. Alot of questions and no answers with this subject.

Just a heads up, I watched Culpepper play last year before the injury. He is one in the same guy we have right now. Now if Joey had as much time in this system as Culpepper it would be a no brainer, Joey should be playing because of Culpeppers poor play. But since he hasn't been here only 4 months I say give Culpepper a chance to get his confidense back as it is not good right now. Starting Joey would be silly especially after going big after Culpepper. It would embarress the organization from the top to the bottom. They will give Culpepper ample rope to hang himself and Joey enough time to fully learn the system as he is a work a holic. It will only take a game to figure out Joey had nothing to work with in Detroit.

I just think we are lucky to have Harrington as our backup if and i say IF Culpepper doesnt work out. I have faith in Daunte but its nice to know we havnt got a Lucas level QB to come in.

Like the people that are making fools of themselves right now supporting a QB who is making Feeley look like an "ALL PRO."

My opinion is based on his level of play "right now" and not what he might be down the road. The time to play him is when he gets his mechanics and head right, not when they are screwed up. Both Saban and Daunte have said to the media this week that Daunte is not right. So why play him?

When and if he gets it together I would definitely support him as the starter. But the reality is "RIGHT NOW" his level of play does not warrant him starting.

Using your "reality" we should bench the entire offensive line and fire Mularkey after his first 2 weeks.

:yeahthat:

To say Joey is half the QB of Dante is wildly overreaching at the moment. With Dante I'm not concerned about arm strength and mobility I'm concerned with what's going on between his ears. Considering the pressure now being placed on Dante it would seem that if he's going to have a breakout game it would most logically be this Sunday. If it doesn't happen now I'm starting to believe it's not going to happen at all.
