Falcons agreed to terms with Joey Harrington on a two-year contract.

Harrington showed he's a capable backup in Miami, but his weaknesses show up over time. Moving to Atlanta seems unlikely to rehab his value depending on how Bobby Petrino's offseason translates to the pros. Michael Vick has only started 16 games once in his career, but Harrington wouldn't be an exciting fantasy option even if he gets a few starts.

I agree with you but mods (including Crunchtime who posted!) left the welker thread here. So who knows :lol:

Glad he got a job somewhere else, somewhere else being the key words. GL joey.
 
These players are recent former Dolphins and there is still a lot of interest in their activities .

In addition there is little current Dolphin news to offer so I am leaving these stories on the Main forum.

However another Mod may think differently.:wink:

so what i still like hearing about ex miami players. i still like to hear what is going on in the league other than miami. i think it is good for joey and he is a good backup. he probably wont ever get a chance to start again
 
Atlanta scored huge in this deal (in the big picture with Texas). They weren't going to replace Vick...they got a king's ransom for their backup QB in Schaub. Plus, they were able to acquire a very capable backup QB in Harrington (while having to give up 0 picks in the process). And moved into position to take Laron Landry (unfortunately).

Atlanta played it smart. I applaud them.

It was a joke. Now that Atlanta has a former top five QB on their roster, if they aren't happy with Michael Vick (the player or the person), they have a way out... Joey will save them! :D

Rumor had it that they would like to dump Vick, but the two major obstacles to that are #1) his contract and #2) he is the face of the franchise. There isn't a lot you can do about the contract, but they are already at #8 in this draft and if they wanted to make another move up for Calvin Johnson (possibly the best player in the draft and a local guy) he would be an upgrade at "face of the franchise."

Maybe the Raiders would have been a better punchline...
