Bengals | Team reaches contract agreement with A. Wright
Wed, 19 Apr 2006 17:19:17 -0700
<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/17">Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the Cincinnati Bengals have reached a contract agreement in principle with free agent QB Anthony Wright (Ravens). The contract will last for one-year, but financial terms were not disclosed.

Yup.

John Clayton reported Joey Harrington is pushing hard for the Lions to get the trade done with us. He wants to be in Miami.

Then, it was reported that Harrington cancelled his visit to Denver.

It's in the Lion's court. If they drop their trade price (they'll HAVE to), Daunte will have his backup.

It seems 100 percent that Harrington will be our backup IMO. The Bengals signed Anthony Wright, so you knoe they are out of the race and with Harrington canceled his visit with the Broncos, it pretty much is a lock. I think hard head Millen will soon realize that a 2007 6th rounder is better then nothing.

yea im already considering him a dolphin hope its not a let down but if the lions dont trade him to us then im going to join the fire matt millen fan club

Harrington wants out now to join Dolphins

There's the link to espn's story by john clayton. He says he wants Millen to trade or release him now. He wants to be with the Dolphins. That really doesn't mean anything, Millen could wait, but he could have to release him and get nothing at all. If he waits until the draft and Saban uses all this yrs picks, they he will get only next yrs pick or nothing.

:dolphins:

Harrington has a lot more power in this then you would think- any team that acquires him MUST renegotiate his monster contract, and he can very easily refuse to agree to terms with any team not named the Dolphins. Then, Millen will have no choice but to take what he can get, and trade him for our offer, or wait until June, cut him, and get nothing.

He just better know his roll once he arrives & better not cause any QB controversy. His mindset should be that he'll be our starter for the Pre-season and probably the first 4 regular season games. After that, it's good ol' Daunte's job.

For the record, I posted this before Nub posted "Harrington Speaks".

I guess I can see the future.

Matt Millen doesnt care about joey harrington at all, he just wants the best deal for him and dont care what joey wants. so i wouldnt consider him a dolphin because the way i see it is that now that the bengals have there backup that means the dolphins are the only team left and dont think we wont just give a 7th round pick now, or we might wait until they cut him when he is due his bonus

I'm sorry, but that is one of the most rediculous things I have seen posted in a while. Why would you want a guy on your team that is happy being a backup?

I want the guy....especially the BACKUP guy......to have the fire in his belly to want the ball and the game in his hands. The guy who wants to lead and handle the pressure, regardless of his string status.

The best case scenario would be that we HAVE a so-called controversy, becasue it would mean htat the backup exceeded expectations. How can you not want that?!?

Harrington is a great backup, and if Daunte doesn't work out or gets reinjured, could be a capable starter. C'mon altready Millen!
