We spent a 6th round pick (possibly upgraded to a 5th) for Joey Harrington. He seems to be getting some decent "press" around the league as having turned it around after the Detroit fiasco, and most think he is playing well, or at least much better than he did in Detroit.

My question... do you think his value has gone up? Could we get a 3rd or a 4th for him next year, based on how he has played? (I'm not trying to start another Harrington/Culpepper debate, or who our QB will be next year, or even if we should trade him.)

I think he is still worth at least what we might have to pay for him (5th), if not higher.

Thoughts?

I think, right now, some team would be willing to give us a 4th for him. Nothing more than that.

Although if we keep winning and Harrington improves a little bit more, we could easily get a 2nd or 3rd for him. But then the question would be: is it worth to trade him?

Harrington's taken 60% of the snaps this season, I believe. We're sending a 5th to Detroit.

I think if Harrington plays pretty well from here on out, teams desperate for a QB will be willing to part with a 3rd, maybe even a 2nd if he has a few Detroit-level games. Minnesota will be in the market for a QB, the Cowboys will likely need a backup, Atlanta looks like they'll be shipping Vick out at the end of the season which means they'll need a backup, Jacksonville might need a backup if Leftwich says goodbye, and the Raiders should be in the market as well. I'm leaving out a bunch of teams like Washington and Philalelphia, too.

If Harrington looks good through week 17, there are a lot of NFC teams that would be willing to give him a shot.

I would guess a 5th at this point. Hopefully, he could string a couple of good games together and be worth a 2nd or 3rd by next year.

I want a 3rd, nothing less. The dude is 27, has possible upside, has years of starting experience, and finally has his career on the right track. A great backup QB is worth keeping unless you get a 3rd or better IMO.

Trading Harrington this offseason would be a HUGE mistake! We cannot rely on a gimpy Culpepper.. We need a stable QB with knowledge of the system here in case Culpepper never regains form..

In Fact, I dont think Culpepper should just be handed the job next season. He needs to PROVE that he is healthy and capable of leading this team to victories. There should be an open competition between he and Joey next season for the job.. The last thing I want to see is the Dolphins get off to another slow start due to a mistake at the QB position.

Harrington is more valuable to us on the roster than he is as a draft pick..

Unless someone wants to part with a high 2nd round pick (which is doubtful), I think we should hang on to him for next season.

Cleo Lemon.

Not really. Harrington's career as a Dolphin will end sooner rather than later. The question is whether or not the team wants to put him on the trade block this year or next year. If they do it this year, they'll get a lower pick, but in a very talented draft. If they do it next year, they'll get a higher pick, but in a less talented draft.

LOL, I dont get some folks, Why would anyone want to trade Harrington if he continues to play well? Who is going to be our QB? Please don't say Culpepper because noone knows if Culpepper is going to be able to play. Some people need to think before they post.

So you are comfortable with Cleo Lemon after he handed the ball off 4 times in a regular season game? Give me a break.

Havent we learned anything from the Ray Lucas experience?

i would like to have him back as the STARTER next year. i dont care if he doesnt put up big numbers were winning, and thats all i care about. i didnt like c-pep as a viking, and i didnt want him and i still dont.

He played well in one game against the Lions. He was mediocre in the other games. Simply because the team wins a game doesn't mean everyone did their job properly or well.

Exactly what makes you think Culpepper won't be able to play?

Thank you....Why is this website obsessed with trading proven players for draft picks??? If Joey continues the run he's on he will have a shot to start next year and if he doesn't, well just look around having a reliable backup QB will be more valuable to us than a draft pick.
