The trade of Laremy Tunsil doesn't look good for the future of John Rosen, at least in Miami. Do you all agree that a decision has essentially already been made on Rosen? To me, it's not even about Fitzpatrick starting to open the season. If the coaching staff was convinced on Rosen IMO, they would have kept one of the best, young left tackles in the league.

While I question the trade, it does set the Dolphins up talent-wise to have a better shot at the #1 overall pick (tank if you prefer). Also, the team can obviously deal up with all the picks they now have. I don't think you can win big in the NFL without a top-10 caliber quarterback.

The quarterback position is the most important in football and Miami is still searching. Gotta believe that more than ever with this trade.

Just keep in mind Josh Rosen has a leg up on all of these 2020 QBs.

Miami has him in the building and will have nearly a year of him in the building before having to make a decision in the draft.

It's not a talent issue, he is about as talented as any of these 2020 dudes.

It's about everything else, demeanor, how he handles not being the starter, his ability to thrive in our scheme and understand of our playbook and defenses, his improvement in not taking sacks and his overall improvement In general.

While trading for Josh was more about adding talent at the QB position vs. actual conviction . . . He can absolutely make this front office and coaching staff have conviction in him before a draft decision needs to be made.

No worries, everybody needs to keep doing what they are doing.

I'm a believer that a young QB should learn the system for a year. This works unless Fitz gets hurt. But that will give Rosen a year on the bench to learn the system and then next year show what hes got. If he can win 7,8,9 games with Tua behind him we can flip him to a qb needy team for a first. If hes fails. We have Tua behind him..

They're winging it, and fkn around.

They spent a second round pick on Rosen, knowing thy will be going after a QB next year. I guess they thought that would appease the fans this year?!
Now, they have to give Rosen a fair shot, because they spent a second round pick on him, otherwise the pick is a waste. So, the Dolphins will suck this season. Fitz will be benched at some point. Rosen will get his shot. In the end he will not be good, and the Dolphins will then drat the QB. It will all make sense in a weird way, to some homer.

But, the bottom line is: They are idiots, they are winging it, they have no clue what they are doing, they are simply fkn around.

Don't hold back.

So whoever doesn't agree with you is a Homer?

A final decision has not been made for our young QB. Every sign points to the need to build Rosen’s confidence and understanding of the game. It seems that the coaching staff for the Cardinals last year did a very poor job preparing their young QB. I believe he did improve during this offseason, and I am confident he will get an opportunity to demonstrate his skills during the season.

I wouldn't say they're winging it. It's fairly obvious they're clearing out old contracts, stockpiling money, stockpiling picks, and building the team that they want/need instead of building some patchwork 8-8 team like has been done in the past. It's going to hurt for a year or two, but it's fairly evident there is a plan.

I’m sure that the front office/coaching staff is privately disappointed in Rosen. There is no question that a decision has been made because he’s simply not a good qb.

I think it’s about being adaptive and getting more value than giving up in trades as you rebuild. This Houston deal fell out of the sky otherwise Tunsil is still here. Tunsil took two years to show up as a player and now after year 3 he’s deemed elite? Who knows, but barring injury he was going to command a top salary in 2 years.

Stills and Kiko outta here for more than dead money is fantastic

That's right, because there is no time to waste at work. And this tam has wasted the last four years. They are doing nothing now, and selling you on the future. In the future things will be okay. That boils down to fkn around, stealing paychecks, selling fog to the fanbase. That's Chris Grier and Steve Ross in a nutshell.

You thought Drew Lock was elite.

You shouldn't be allowed to ever post an opinion on anyone being an idiot.

No decision has been made on Rosen obviously.

Acquiring a kings ransom of picks indicates very little about Rosen's perceived value to the team given that this team needs a talent increase across the board.

Giving up a 2nd for an elite QB talent who, at the very least, will be spirited competition for anyone new brought in was an excellent move. Only low-IQ Dolphin fans appraoch these things in a binary fashion. In fact, given all that has happened the last 24 hours, the rolling Fitzy out there - despite him not looking nearly as good as Rosen through preseason makes much more sense.

I know this will torque some mouth-breathers, but Rosen is a highly valued asset on this team, will be competing for the starting job for at least the next 2 years here, and is a huge part of the Dolphins plans no matter what they do in the draft or free agency. get used to him, he is here to stay.

I think it has more to do with the fact that they felt they just couldnt pass that offer up in a rebuild year. As for Rosen, the only thing that makes sense in my mind is that they arent starting him right now because they believe he is the future and dont want to get him shell shocked out there behind this mess like what happened to David Carr.

I highly doubt they are disappointed in a guy who has worked hard and has clearly made improvements even from our own perspective of watching him in 3 preseason games in addition to being well behind Fitz in camp to being his equal and hell even more than that.

But run with that theory if u must.
