Has a team ever started off 2-4 and made the playoffs?

Didn't the Pats start off slow the year Brady stepped in for Bledsoe?
I don't remember what thier record was at the time, but they weren't doing well up until that point if I remember correctly....

Yup! 3-4.

Edit: They started at 1-3 then improved to a 3-4. But still, they got off to a very rough start then went on to win the SB.

Yeah it's happened plenty of times. Of course that doesn't mean it's going to happen to the Dolphins. I really didn't think coming in this team had a shot at playoffs, they will win around 6-7 games and that's it. I think people better stop thinking playoffs and start looking towards next year.

Can't give up man. If we as fans practice throwing in the towel this early, it will blind us in the future when we really do have a good team. I'm sure Saban and Co. feel the same. Perseverance must be practiced before it can be mastered.

If we can win against New Orleans we might be exactly where we SHOULD BE... Those 2 wins against Denver and Carolina were impressive but perhaps also may have been fluky.
Trade for instance the Denver and Carolina wion for the Jets, Bills loses and we would have a completely different outlook for this team. We wouldnt have been overconfident about our chances against K.C.
Now take the latter analogy, and perhaps we may get a clearer picture of the season to follow.
One week at a time. Let's not look past anyone... as we have not been afforded that luxury.
Lets just try and beat the Saints...

I believe the chargers went 0-4 and went to the Super Bowl, I think it was the year they beat us in SanDiego in the playoffs, not positive though.

In 1992 They started 0-4 then went on to lose in the divisional round of the playoffs to miami. Not bad.

Thanks for correcting me.:)

Actually I thought you were right, I had to look it up to be sure. So I corrected us both. :)

The Packers started 1-4 last year and made the playoffs, so yes. I'm sure there's more instances.
Exactly what I was going to say. They may very well do it again this year.

Actually, in 1994, San Diego started the season 0-4, with Stan Humphries at QB and went on to make the Super Bowl, getting blown out by San Francisco in Steve Young's only SB win. That's also the year SD beat us in the divisional round of the playoffs on that bull$h*t Natrone Means TD, when they came back on us and Stoyonovich missed a FG at the very end. Also Marino's first season back from injury.
