Has anyone else been surprized by Seth's play?

I am not the evaluator as some of our other members, but I made an effort to watch Seth play a little this last game, I didn't notice any bad plays from him, in fact I actually noticed him blocking very well, and blowing up his man on several plays. Maybe it has finally clicked for seth? Maybe having Hadnot take his place for a while there really lit a fire under his sweaty butt.

Has anyone else noticed this? Set aside your hate people...

I think it just goes to show you that coaching & discipline makes a big difference. Now if we can just the QBs to learn some of that too.

Yeah I've noticed it also while watching the replays. He seems to be getting on his man pretty quick and looks more aggresive. I also think the zone scheme we have been utilizing has helped. Hopefully our line will continue to gel and improve every week.

I think the coaching has had an impact, plus Hadnot getting reps at center. When your job is up for grabs, and your back is against the wall, you have two choices, to fight to keep your job or give up. Seth seems like he is fighting to keep his job!

I'm not gonna knock on anyone, the line looked good, but I think it's hard to evaluate single offensive line people, the unit is what's important. The longer the same offensive line unit is playing together, they'll continue to get better, especially with a proven offensive line coach. Hopefully the unit continues to improve.

They will! We have a great coaching staff in place!:)

It seemed like the coaches thought Seth was underachieving. Glad to see he is turning around.

I am honestly going to watch the game again and focus on the Offensive Line a lot more before I give any praise to Seth McKinney. I want him to consistently prove that he should be our starting C. From everything I saw, our Offensive Line was looking the best that it has looked all preseason. Our running game had looked the best it has as well as our pass protection, allowing 0 sacks. No matter what, I trust Hudson Houck's coaching and his judgement and I really do believe that he can have our O-line playing like this did last night and continuously improve. I like how he experimented with Damion McIntosh at LT and Vernon Carey at RT since Stockar McDougle hasn't been imrpoving and it seemed to work out great. I look forward to see what this Offensive Line is capable of doing... there's no doubt in my mind that we have the best coaching, and I really do feel we have the talent and Houck is just the man to coach these guys in to be a very productive unit. They can only improve and get much better in time with more games and experience together.

first, I think the experiment was Carey at left tackle. Houch already knew what he had in D-Mac.
second, I don't understand the "since Stockar McDougle has been imrpoving and it seemed to work out great" part. I'm not getting it, help. I thought Carey HAD to go to right tackle because Stockar failed.

Must have lost my train of thought. By experimenting I meant that I'm glad that we tried something new (since what we've tried so far hasn't worked out as we hoped.) Yes, Houck does know what he has in D-Mac at LT and it appears that he wanted to test Vernon Carey at RT. And I think what I was thinking was "since Stockar McDougle hasn't been improving, this new rotation seems to be working out great based on last nights performance".

Houck is the master of making it work on a line without Kansas City-like talent. He finds ways to get guys working together and makes the whole unit really one player. I think it wasn't working with Stockar because he was used to playing as an individual on a line made up of individuals.

I didn'nt notice him at all.
I had pretty much given up on him altogether.
It's good to hear he's made progress.
I'll have to make an effort to watch him next game.

The key point is you didn't notice him...must have meant he was doing his job. Miracles never cease...
