we hold teams to 19 points or less. Even though we haven't blown anyone out we have been strong defensively, and efficient on offense, we have not been beat. We have many areas on this team to upgrade, but when we dominate defensively, we know our offense will score enough to get us a win. Just noticed that and thought that was cool.....:woot:
 
Yeah and if we allow more than 20+ Points we are 0-5..
19 is our magic number

Mandich made reference to this on his radio show. He said this is Phins football. Defense and efficiency.
 
Didn't the Jets beat us 19-13? I mean I don't want to rain on the parade here fellas, but that was against the JEST . . . week 1 . . . lol.

My bad 20-14 . . . talk about splitting hairs LOL . . . guess when u find a stat . . . u run with it lol


This is like the the stat with the wildcat . . . yea we average like what? 8 or 9 yards a carry out of it . . . but if u take away the New England game, its more like 2 yards a carry.

Its not really splitting hairs. Its more geared to how the teams scored. 20 points means usually, 2 TDs and 2 FGs. 19 is still only 1TD and 4FGs. The stats is saying keep them out of the endzone and we win...lol

1TD allowed is all we can give up and FGs are okay...thats what I get out of it...

Still an interesting stat...heres to the niners staying under 19.:up:
 
I have been saying this for a while now, as our D goes....so goes the team.

ya exactly, i always make the argument with people when defending the dolphins, ppl say we can only win with gimmicks we used, but besides the fact that its not a gimmick, we have been winning by defense and playing turnoverless ball.i think it speaks alot for itself 8-0 when holding teams to under 20 and 0-5 when its 20 or over.
