That we have outgained every single oponent since the Steelers yet still have lost four of those games. I mean I know everyones questioning mularkey but it seems to me that turnovers and sacks (which result on punts) have been the main cause for the defeats. That and our inability to score in the redzone.

And we don't gain all these yards on deadtime either we were consistently ahead of the Pats, Bills and Jets (until the third quarter). I'm not sure how much that has to do with gametime coaching either. Maybe preparation, but its mostly failure to execute by the players. Its almost like they panic, like they don't know how to score or win for that matter (Specially in offense).n Last week it looked to meliek when he pats had to score they were confident, calm and cool like they knew they could do it. While when we get the ball and have to score we look like where just waiting for a miracle to happen.

Very interesting points, however, you cant neccessarily rule out that it is mostly the fault of the play calling. You're merely stating that the players have been playing poorly (which they have been for the most part) because they arent discipline enough as if there is a direct cause and effect. I think that in most situations the play calling has been so boneheaded that it has caused some players to have to step-up and play even better in order to succesfully complete the play. It's not all anyone's fault but I do blame Mularkey for some if not most of the issues. Don't forget about stupid oline penalties that force us to punt eventually too.

woow 2001? i guess you not a post whore

Yeah If they gave a price for the lowest avg. poster over zero I'm sure I would win it. Actually I'm a member since 1999 but the site was changed in 2001 and I had to re-create the account.

I actually lurk everyday but so many people post now a days that someone always shares my opinion so I don't need to bring it up. I have not read anyone noticing the fact that we have performed better on offense that 4 of the teams we have lost to and ussually you should win those games.

And some bad special teams play that screwed us in the bill games, and today for that matter, and last week the were some missed FGs were they not. The lord knows I' not a fan of Mularkey and I thought we should have run the ball more against the Pats and the Bills but were were still moving the ball better than they were.

But still we were moving the ball better than the other team. That means that our OC is putting the players in better position than the opponents OC. And regardless of how bad he's doing we should be winning. At least a bit more. But the sacks, the INTs, the Fumbles, Missed FGs, and the failure to execute a play when needed (again I refer to the looser mentality argument). That is what has kept us out of games. Mularkey does not control if Joey throws a pick or if welker juggles it and it is ripped of his hands, or if ronnie fumbles. I think it goes beyond him.

I mean last year I remember against atlanta we passed the ball on a 3rd and short when ronnie and ricky were running at will Frerrote threw a pick and everyone was calling for Scotts Head. Now they think differently. I think that is a bit of what's happening now.

Now even if you fail to score TD's like the 1998 and 1999 teams or the 2000 ravens we shoulf be able to play a field position game and win many of those. Remember 1998 when Mare had like 38 FGs.
