Guys am I right or wrong

jay comes and is given the job by wanny over huard and only plays one quarter in preseason which he stunk, by the way huard put up 45 on sunday for the chiefs

wanny never brings in a challenger against jay so we never get any better

saban comes brings in a vet in gus who gets outplayed by sage all preseason and stinks the first six games and knocks us out of contention, sage plays three games, one he stunk so did the rest of the team the other two he brings us back by like 24 points and the third he lights up the jets, what happens they not interested and he goes to the texans

granted we get CPEP and harrington so that is an upgrade, they are two starters in this league, why was there no competition in camp for the job?, harrington is way sharper in preseason, no kidding he did not have major knee surgery, so he is not given the job in which he in my mind won, and we are back doing the same thing again, the only way a NFL team makes a move to the next level is a QB wins a job outright, that has yet to happen here and that is why we still are treading water

Because its dumb to have a pro bowler be challenged with a draft bust (no offense to joey) for the starting job

brady was a nobody once also

Difference is he didnt have 4 years to stop being a nobody

I think Joey has improved but Daunte is still a far better QB

if joey will get the ball out the plays are there to be made. I mean lets be honest draft bust or not could anyone do worse than cpep

How can you fairly call Harrington a bust? If he was put in a situation with a better chance to succeed, I think he'd do an above average job. Detroit wasn't exactly the place to go as a QB and try to carry a pitifully ran organization on your shoulders. I'd like to see Harrington get a shot under better circumstances.

A good example of a QB who looked bad until he was put in a favorable situation: STEVE YOUNG. Granted, Young and Harrington have very different styles, but it comes to show how being surrounded with a good team, from top to bottom, can influence and help a QBs play.

all i am asking is that someone wins the job, not given it because of who they are

Wanny brought a challenger in Griese who was an established starter but never gave him as much opportunity to prove himself as he did with Jay.

Keep in mind Harrington played against backups in preseason and he's not the one with the bloated contract, Culpepper is. So, the coaching staff would probably want to see if Pep can make himself worth the price we pay. But I think that if he produces a very poor outing at NE, Saban has to consider Harrington.

Harrington spent as much time against first team defenses as Culpepper did in the preseason. If it wasn't as much, it was DAMN near. I was at the Panthers game and Joey played against the Panthers first team alot and outplayed Culpepper. He was much more aggressive and quicker. HE made 3 times as many throws down field as Culpepper did.

***not an argument. Just an observation.

From what i saw coming into this year Harrington look better in every way.

harrington seemed to have energy, which the offense picked up when he was in, i seen it every time he was in, he was in alot with the ones and it was preseason, i dont want to blame cpep, i just want a guy to claim the job so we can get past this, this QB thing is going to stop us from becoming champions again

it is frustrating because every time somone looks better the other guy is always the starter no questions asked,

It is sad to say but I honestly believe we're putting the most expensive guy on the field...not the guy giving us the best chance to win.

Watching Culpepper through the years in Minnesota I was extremely disappointed when he was brought in because so much of his success in Minnesota (not all...but much) was due to Moss AND his ability to run. Here he as neither of those things.

In the NFL the coaches like guard the top paying guys egos so much...just let 'em count their money and put the other guy in. Is that so much different than putting in a reliever in baseball? If what we're doing isn't working...please, try something else.

*sigh* I'm used to this now. I think if The pay were reversed we would be seeing joey out there instead of Daunte.
