It sounds like treber took one shot to the head to many.... Tony Wise, top 3 o-line coach

Tony Wise was crucified for the way the OL played in 2004, but we didn't hear as much complaining about him before that, especially when RW was having back to back 1000 yard seasons. Also, he was basically the original architect of the Dallas Cowboys OL under JJ. Tony was the guy who made a player out of guys like Nate Newton, Kevin Gogan, and Mark Tuinei. Hudson Houck followed Wise there too, after Tony went with Wannstedt to Chicago, but a very solid core was already in place when HH got to Dallas.
Some well respected posters on this board, who probably won't admit it now, were praising Tony Wise up and down when we got him as the OL coach here in Miami and were also saying he was as good as any OL coach in the NFL and we were lucky to get rid of Paul Boudreau, who was the worst. The same Boudreau that has been doing a solid job for Jack Del Rio in Jacksonville the past two years and coached some other very good units during his time as an OL coach in the NFL. Actually, he was with Miami when Lamar Smith had his best season in 2000. Boudreau left in '01, replaced by Wise, and Smith's production really fell off. Could have been other factors or just a coincidence though. We still had Webb, and Donnalley in 2000 and they were also replaced in 2001, by Spencer Folau and Todd Perry.

Look I dislike Wannestadt as much as he next guy but he is a really good Defensive Coordinator, hes a lousy headcoach but he does know defense. Between Haslett, Davis, Wise or Wannestadt Id have to say Id want Wannestadt coaching my team. Granted thats not saying much. Davis was completely lost in Cleveland and out of his league, Haslett must have damaging pictures of the Saints owner or something I dont know how he keeps his job.
