Hasselbeck Suffered Torn Labrum; May Miss Six Months
Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports Seattle Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck (shoulder) suspects he played the past season with a torn labrum in his left shoulder, according to NFL sources. Hasselbeck underwent an MRI in hopes he would learn he might be able to avoid shoulder surgery, but it appears surgery is inevitable. Surgery on a torn labrum would sideline him for six months, possibly causing him to miss up to and through training camp. Updating an ongoing story, ESPN's John Clayton reports Seattle Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck (shoulder, fingers) is seeking a second opinion for the torn labrum in his left shoulder, his non-throwing arm. The results of the second evaluation will likely decide whether or not the injury will require surgery.
