What's going on Fin Heaven? First and foremost, I want to say that it an absolute pleasure to be here with the rest of you fin-fans! It's great that we have a place to share ideas, opinions and talk about our Miami Dolphins. I just recently registered but I've been here reading threads for a good amount of time now. Well this is my first thread and I just wanted to start it off in the proper fashion. Thanks for your time!

Through out the last few weeks I've been reading the threads and comments here non stop. All of the speculation regarding who we will draft first, what free agents we'll go after and our expectations heading into this season. These are five things that will factor in to us exceeding everyone's expectations of us (they are pretty obvious)

1. We need some solid QB play. Now I'm not asking Beck or McCown to come out and light it up like Marino used to. But in order to be a playoff team we're going to need some smart play from our signal caller. Now, I'm pretty sure all of you agree that last year our QB play was horrible! From the concussion suffered by Green to the extremely mediocre play from Lemon. Beck was a rookie so I give him a pass on some of the errors he made. We need a Smart QB. All I ask this year is that whoever is behind center needs to THINK. Think before you throw that ball into double coverage, focus when you're in shotgun formation receiving the snap! If we don't get slightly above average QB play then we are doomed. I pray to the lord that either McCown or Beck or whomever is starting can do that for us.

2. Ronnie Brown. The man plays this game with soul and passion. He is arguably the hardest runner in the NFL. If we have any chance of opening eyes this year, we need Ronnie Brown to stay healthy. Obviously splitting the touches with Ricky will be beneficial to Ronnie's health. Let's keep our fingers crossed that both Ricky and Ronnie stay healthy and run all over the opposing defenses we face!

3. We are one good player away from having a very good offensive line. I read a lot of comments saying that our OL was mediocre last year. In my honest opinions, it was the strength of our team last year. I think our offensive line stepped up tremendously this year and will only get better with another year under our belt. Let's open up some lanes for the R+R express to explode through. A good running game is so vital. It's without question the QB's best friend.

4. We need to play with some passion on defense. We need everybody out there to have the same intensity, passion and will to win. We have a capable defense. Our coaching staff needs to instill that in our defensive players. Pick up a solid SB in the draft and I think we'll be fine, our run defense can't be much worse then it was last year.

5. This isn't something we have control over but look at our opponents this year. I believe we have the easiest schedule in the NFL. I'm pretty sure a lot of people will over look the Dolphins when they step on the field to play us. Not a good move.

I can grasp the concept of being a realist (because I am one) and in my honest opinion we have a REALISTIC shot of making a wild card spot this year. We're all Dolphins fans here, let's try to have some faith in our team. If you don't agree with what I'm saying that's fine. Kindly post your opinion and i'll be glad to give it a glance. It upsets me to read these threads with people saying "we're no better than a three win team!." How and the hell do you know? Are you and Cleo in cahoots? No. Hope for the best and expect the worst. But most of all have faith in our 2008 Miami Dolphins!

nice post man. i think we are more or a 7 win team when i see our schedule.. hopefully we get home games to start the season.. that normally helps a fast start.. if we win 6 or 7 ill be happy this time next year.

Very nice first post. Good to see we are adding intelligence to this site. Love the faith. Only thing I see different from you is our Oline needs 2 people not one. As ridiculous as this sounds, as far as strategy goes, I would love to see us take Branden Albert #! and Cherilus #2a. Our line of Cherilus, Albert, Satele, Smiley, Carey would be a disgusting lot of young talent you could keep together for 10 years. Oline set for the next 8 to 10 years? I am in.

Welcome, we're glad to have you! Now get prepared for the emotional rollercoaster that we like to affectionately call finheaven.

Having faith hasn't and will not change the fact that this franchise is 20-44 over the last four seasons. One of the most proud and traditionally excellent franchises has tanked, has hit rock bottom, and faith will not change that.

However Bill Parcells and his gang might, and to that i do have faith. Confidence in people who have football experience and knowledge running our team now instead of incompetence from Spielman, Wannstedt, Cameron and Mueller.
