Have Fins asked Vernon Carey to make a final run at Kyle Orton

Im wheeling and dealing in my mind. Fins save about 4.5 mill by restructuring Carey. Well, how much would they save if they included Starks in the deal for Orton?

Shot in the dark says atleast 4 mill, maybe 7 mill.

But in my eyes, unless you sit here and say Orton atleast makes the wildcard, I wouldn't do it.

Starks is a cornerstone of this Dline. I hope Odrick can replace what he brings, especially since Solai did at DT. But I wait it out or go with henne.

dont even think about it buddy. We have been developing starks for years now, dude is a probowler, aint no way we giving him up, i'd rather send 3rd round pick to denver + a 5th for orton than give up starks. Starks-odrick-langford aint going anywhere!!!!!

i was watching nfln and it showed ortons passing stats says he passed for 3,643 yards and that brandon had a career high catching with orton at QB its still early in preseason and i think we should give tha 3rd and 6-7 mil a year for 2 years ? maybe 3 years i think we would be ok and still have our 1st and 2nd to go after a QB IN NEXT YEARS DRAFT

Miami was about 5-7 million under the cap before signing JT and Colombo ... Not sure what Carey's restructured deal will save them ... looking at the 2011 salaries, Bell, Long, and Soliai could be asked to either extend (Long or Soliai) or restructure in the case of Bell?

As much as I want to believe Orton is still in play, they could be clearing some room for a smaller acquisition and extra space for an in season signing due to injury. With this regime you just never know.

Agreed! I`d love Orton to come but I`m also being realistic; I do think this squad is on the verge of being very good and competing for a championship, but not this year, the schedule is BRUTAL! Get Goldson and draft a QB in the 1st next year and then we are set to challenge. Don`t get me wrong, I`ll be cheering the team on every week as I always do and I really hope we make the playoffs this year, I just don`t see it.

I do not agree that this Carey situation has anything to do with Orton.

I think they feel Carey is not worth the 7 per he is owed.
