Have we done much to shore up ST?

I haven't been completely on top of all the moves but I do have a pretty good idea as to what has been going on. I haven't seen us going after any special teamers at all. I just thought of this because I saw that the Jets signed our former player Larry Izzo for ST. Our return coverage was a serious liability last season. I remeber every time we kicked off I was on the edge of my seat. I cant remember waht game it was but there was one game in particular when our return coverage was the worst I've ever seen as a fin fan. Anyone knwo what game that was? Also what are we doing to change that??

The Raiders game was pretty bad special teams.

yeah we gotta fix our return coverage... but a lot of these players do not get signed till the end of FA

IMO having the squad together another year improves it.

Good question... with all these moves along the defensive and offensive line I completely forgot about Special Teams which was terrible in almost all aspects:

-Punting was inconsistent
-Punt coverage was no better
-Kick-off coverage was spotty as well and gave up terrible field position several times
-Kick-off length was downright putrid, I don't ever remember us getting a touch back ONCE last season



I think ST is a fundamental part to every successful team like dominating OL and DL are. Not that you need to have dominating players in the ST game, but do you remember any Super Bowl teams that just had a dismal special teams unit? I just really hope we get it together this season.
