Against the Texans, the coaching staff went with a different approach. I saw Reggie Bush start the game as our RB. But after about a series or two, I never saw him back in the game. Obviously, the coaching staff went with what was working, and Daniel Thomas was running great out there.

So I take it that the Bush Experiment is over.

I understand the coaching staff made the mistake of thinking Bush could be an all-time back, but at least put him back in the game as a role player, just as the Saints used him. Let him provide a mismatch out there and utilize him in many ways. We did trade for him after all, so let's use him, even if it means using him seldomly.

It was game two. I don't think they are ready to cut him just yet.

Not really, they are just not using him correctly. These bumbling idiots haven't figured out that Bush isn't a between the tackles type of runner then they are idiots. You need to get this guy in open space. This has already been proven.

Daniel Thomas is the work horse and Reggie needs to be used to create mismatches but this FO doesn't get it. Reggie wants to be a every down back-he's not and needs to get that through his head and the FO needs to quit trying to use Bush as such.

Sounds so simple, it's sad when the fans get it and the guys running the show do not. The Texans were teeing off with Bush in the game, they had no respect for our running game what so ever. We need to start Thomas and make Bush the mismatch creator.

why lie to bush and tell him he would be our featured back than? disgraceful this regime is...

people relax bush is not a great inside runner but the front office has not given up on the guy. Thomas is a more powerful runner who we needed against a pretty talent front 7. Bush will be fine, the coaches just went with the hot hand this game and it happened to be thomas.

We can only hope Daniel Thomas keeps running like he did Sunday (minus the fumble). If this is the case, Bush will be put in the same roll he had with the Saints. I have no problem with that.

Its game two. We will find out a way to use him correctly. Obivously he cant run between the tackles but thats what Thomas is for and he did a great job. Bush is a outside runner and a reciever out of the back field but hopefully our coaches will realize this. He is not a bad player at all if we use him right.

You put Bush and Thomas in the backfield and then motion Bush out-should get a mismatch there for either Bush or Fasano

I think Reggie Bush can be more than a situational back (like his Saints role), but can't be an "every down" back (like Barry Sanders or Walter Payton).

I think he can be a good 50/50 back, splitting carries with someone like Daniel Thomas. Thunder & lightning.

Reggie Bush seems to have a natural desire to bounce things to the outside. Like in the Houston game, there was a run where he had a gaping hole in the middle, he abandoned the hole, tried to bounce it to the outside, and got stopped. New Orleans fans had warned us that Bush had that tendency.

I doubt that Reggie Bush will ever have a 1000 yd rushing season in the NFL.

I also hope that I'm wrong.

You mean like Ted Ginn? Who the FO constantly tried to make a #1 WR even though everyone knew including Ginn that he was anything but. But they kept trying cause he was stupidly over drafted.

New offensive scheme. Dabols still trying to figure it out. At least they got the running game going yesterday.

Now if they can just score more tds in the redzone and pass protect better...

Its not because Bush played bad, its because Thomas played good. They know how to use Bush, and they will use him when they need to. Its only game 2 ffs.
