A year or 2 back there was talk of more upgrades to the stadium: all new seating, 4 scoreboards, the metal roof over the seats...

anyone hear anything lately?

(I just wanted to get off the bashing train for a while)

Anything that keeps the sun off the north side is an absolute necessity. The freaking Colosseum had an awning. Seems to me that just under 2000 years of progress should have resulted in a cost-effective way of doing it today.

How about putting a better team in the stadium. That is an improvement I can get behind. (I am sorry, that one was just too easy.)

I dunno, roasting in the open sun with a bunch of Jets fans behind you is pretty memorable experience on Sundays.

The Romans had it right the first time. We don't need a roof or A/C. Just get the fans in the shade and it would be 1000% better and more cost effective than any other option.

Pretty much, although I think there are probably some safety/legal issues with awnings.

They just need a new ****ing stadium. Wish we sold it to the Marlins but the Marlins wasn't going to buy that ****. Sigh. Oh well.

Even Wilbon trashed it on PTI, saying it's a dump. Being such a great destination for Super Bowls, it shouldn't even take more than a second to realize you need to do whatever you can to keep the stadium in tip top shape to draw more events. Ross being a real estate guy should know this!

What exactly is so crappy about the stadium? The only complaint I have is that the sideline seats need to be closer to the field.

P.S. Who really cares what Wilbon thinks

Umm, he travels around to many stadiums and has probably seen them all unlike you and I. I'm guessing he has a pretty good idea where that stadium stands compared to others around the league. The fact that Goodell said it needs upgrades for Super Bowls tends to make me think Wilbon's statement has some credibility.

Check out the awning.

What's the point in upgrading the stadium if the fans are going to boycott the team, and not support the players be renewing their season tickets.

Ive actually been to many of the NFL stadiums. Went to the new E Rutherford stadium last year and wasnt overly impressed. It was built for a ton of money and didnt feel very inviting.

The Dolphins stadium feels comfortable, you have a good view from most seats, parking is easy, gameday experience is good, bathrooms are clean and work, the big screens are HD. Ive also sat in club seats and that level is comfortable and feel more high end than in yrs past.
