Hayden Fox's Preseason Week One Assessment

you must not have seen his punt return against atlanta. it was eye opening! surprised me. i thought it was someone else at first.

he has MAJOR quickness. he doesnt waste any time or movement and MOST of the time, that is more important than having 3.2 speed. there are a ZILLION return guys working at wallmart who didnt pan out as return specialists BECAUSE they didnt have the quickness and the SUDDEN burst to get around the wedge coming at them. if you cant make guys miss and get into open space, all that speed means NOTHING!!

and please, dont tell us your one of those guys who is STILL hanging on to his ONE TIME 4.7 clocking. it was a ONE OFF, period!! the kid is LEGIT 4.5 game speed player with HUGE quickness and that "twitch" to excell as a return man. he is NOT slow like so many have locked into their minds.

He looked like the fastest guy on the field to me. Granted this is based off one play but he could be a blend of Hartline's speed and dependability with Bess' quickness and dependability but doesn't fall down after contact. And if we're to believe scouting reports he actually thrives under pressure which is where Hartline falls off a bit (especially near the endzone). I kind of thought people were exaggerating his potential but I'm definitely ready to jump aboard that bandwagon.

I finally watched the game. I don't know how anybody watched the game on Friday given so many hours of coverage of the PGA Championship. That obviously took priority, after my own round of golf that afternoon. .

The game was on at 7 pm so I watched both. Should be a great final round total.

I got the opposite impression from Gillislee. I though he looked slow, couldn't cut, and had no vision. I'm thinking he is more on the bubble than DT. I thought Damien Williams was looking good until his injury. I would have him ranked him higher than DT and Gillislee depending on his injury.

unfortunately, we may never know if his injury is significant.

Jordan is a bust. We should trade him now while he is still a mystery to the league. Playing him for another season will reduce his value to zero.
I would trade him (if SF is willing) for Carlos Hyde. We need a big back to compliment Miller and Moreno.
We have pass rushers in Shelby, Freeny and Fede.
Jordan was a reach and a bad value pick for the team. Probably Irelands worst pick.
Trade for someone who can help us this year.

I understand what your saying...but it is preseason and Atlanta was running the ball alot and the coaches are prob telling him to focus on the run game.

My one glaring thing though that Jordan FU'd on was not getting his long ars arms and body up in the air when he knew damn well he was throwing to block the damn ball!! That had me baffled. When I played both OL and DL through Freshman in HS, it was just always a natural thing to me to read the QB if your being blocked but your in the line of fire to get your hands up. It should be natural if you had football instincts.

And a part of me is wondering whether Jordan really wants to be in Miami. I wonder if he wishes he were in philly. But its too soon IMO. plus no one is going to trade for a PED guy right now.

apparently damien williams injury not serious. not on non practicing list.
