Great card tonight in Miami.

First fight just finished. OUTSTANDING fight. Jason Litzau appeared to be in total command. Guy looked great. Then in the 8th, Jose Hernandez....behind and swollen/bloodied.....decided he was gonna go for broke. And he did. He fought a great round. And he finished it with a devastating overhand right to pull the upset and hand Litzau his first loss.

Litzau still looks like a great up-and-comer though. But he learned a hard lesson tonight.

Miranda/Gibbs up next.

Man, Edison Miranda can punch. Got Gibbs out in one round.

Long arms and plenty of power at super middleweight.

He was really in control (Litzau). But he didn't heed his trainers advice to play defense. Hernandez bowed up in the 8th and finally caught him with a slobberknocker.

I've seen him on ESPN a few times.

That's why I do not like him, he is too ****y.

He was getting his *** beat on ESPN once, not taking his trainers advice and he got a lucky knockout to win.

I didn't know that. But it makes sense because they alluded to that. Kellerman said the difference this time was that he was in with a professional.

True that.

Miranda is a beast plain and simple and was robbed against Abraham IMO. The ref was shady in that fight deducting points from Miranda whenever possible and even with the point deductions I thought the scorecards should have been closer. Doesn't matter though, Miranda proved a big point tonight and would beat Abraham if they fought again and would give Jermain a hell of a fight. He's the 3rd best middleweight right now IMO (being Winky and Jermain) and I expect him in big fights from here on ouAs He's a pleasure to watch and we'll all be seeing a lot more from him on HBO, especially with his performace tonight!

As for Litzau, a rough night for a young 23 year old. He got reckless in the ring and wanted to punch with a puncher and got caught. It's his fault he lost but it's better to lose when your 23 then when your 33 so he needs to go fight a couple of bums, get his cofidence back up, and move on from this tough loss. Many fighters have lost when they were 23 so it's not going to be impossible for him to shrug this loss off and move on!

Plus it was good to see Joel Julio win tonight. After 2 shaky performances (including a loss to Quintana) he was in desperate need for a performance like he did tonight and he came through. He'll could be an elite fighter in the future. He's just got to stop fighting flat footed and learn how to box better and he will be fine. He's got the power and pedigree to go a long way in the sport, he's just got to learn how to box better so that when he's in the ring with a boxer like Quintana, he's not over-whelmed by boxing ability and can move his focus from trying land one big punch to trying to stick and move and out-class opponents. His power might work on lower-level competition but once you step up to upper level and elite fighters you've got to have more the power to get the job done!
