There are tons of threads about different coaching possibilities on this board and it seems as though everyone has a different opinion as to who they feel is the best candidate to be the Head Coach of the Miami Dolphins in 2016. It seems that in every thread there are discussions as to why this person is great but that person isn't and vice versa. What I don't see is a poll to show which are the most popular among us here on Finheaven. I've created this poll with the candidates that have interviewed already, scheduled to be interviewed and others that have been mentioned but not necessarily linked to interviews.

This will allow us to see who might be the Finheaven Favorite Candidate kind of the like the Political races going on now, but much cooler and more fun since it's about Football and most of our favorite team(Obviously we have guys here like Junc and BillsFaninPeace among other quality posters). This could be a good place to discuss why you think the candidate(s) you choose are better suited for the team versus others. I've made this poll so that you can pick multiple candidates if you feel that more than 1 candidate would bring success to our franchise.

I feel like this will be interesting to see. I'll also keep an other option up there just in case I missed someone in the poll. If I do forgive me.

I forgot to add Chip Kelly, maybe the Mods can add him for me.

Thanks for putting this up, I was considering posting one too! I'm interested to see where this lies now that we have a better understanding of the candidates. Hue Jackson all the way!! :)

I voted other: I want a winner like Urban Meyer, Jim Harbaugh or Jimbo Fisher, I don't care if it's in College, they are true head coaches who I would be happy to roll the dice on in the NFL. None of the retreads are that appealing to me, but if I had to chose one it would be either Hue Jackson or Chip Kelly.

1) Shanahan
2) Coughlin (Campbell ass.HC)
3)Hue Jackson
4)Gase
5)Smith

Yeah, I've read so many of the threads and couldn't get a grip on which candidates might make the top 3 choices of the fans here. It will be interesting to see who people are picking. I personally feel like there are a few candidates that would work well for us.

I feel that Dan Campbell could be a good choice with a caveat. He was to get a couple of really strong Coordinators. I like 4 candidates really. Hue Jackson, Campbell, Shanahan, and McDaniels. I really want to like Shula, but just don't know much about him and want to do more research.

1.) Shanahan
2.) Coughlin
3.) Jackson
4.) Mora

I didn't vote Gruden because I don't think there is any chance he returns to the NFL right now, but I would include him too if he were a realistic option. As you can see from my list, I feel it is CRUCICAL given the Dolphins' current state that the next coach have legitimate HC experience in their past. They must also be able to command a room and demonstrate that they have true leadership qualities that has been demonstrable through results in their past. For this reason, I didn't include a single coordinator with no prior HC experience on my list.

It will be interesting.. I'll be checking on this one during the day. :)

What coordinators do you think Campbell would choose? I have no problem with him either but I know it's far from a possibility with Ross and the FO pushing strong to make a splash. I don't blame them either...
McDaniels and Shula are both interesting candidates. Just the idea of bringing in another Shula sounds exciting to me! At the end of the day I want to feel excited and inspired to be a fan again after the hire. *deep exhale* Ross better not mess this up... I have supported him since but if misses here I can't defend him any longer. McDaniels would definitely have us scoring more points that's for sure! He does however appear childish with all his temper tantrums and **** on the sidelines. How long will the players respect him for? Grown men being yelled at like they're teenagers isn't going to work out well. Not sure though.. I might have pegged him completely wrong!

I must add that I respect Coughlin and Shan but they are both too old imo! And Shanahan's ego is not needed here. I can see him being very stubborn with just about everything he does. I want a coach that's hungry to become the next Shula, ya know?!

The way I see it, this team will not be playing in a SB for awhile, the lockerroom is infected. They have to change the culture before even talking about winning games. This is why, although older guys, Shanahan and Coughlin are pretty much no Brainerd IMO.... Will the team win with them? I seriously don't know and don't think that's even important for now... this team is not ready to win. This is not the kind of project I would give to a beginner. One thing is for sure, Coughlin and Shanahan will absolutely change the culture and command respect in the locker room. So their age doesn't matter to me because even though they might not have enough time to build a great SB team, they have enough to set the table for the next guy. I would even be willing to keep Campbell as ass. HC under Coughlin so that the guy can learn and improve while the table is being set...

I have such mixed feelings this time around, the last HC we hired who had prior NFL HCing experience was Dave Wannstedt in 2000, which coincidentally was also the last time we were a regular playoff contender.

But then other on the other hand, most of the guys that have prior HC experience likely wouldn't have been fired if they were successful at their job.

Then beyond that, there is that lingering statistic that no head coach has ever a won a Super Bowl with two different teams, and if that's the case than Shanahan and Coughlin should stay the hell away!

My heart still wants Mike Shula, just because it feels right for the team, but I don't know if that would really be the best move or not.

Shannahan, Jackson, or bust. Anyone else would severely piss me off and I'd have the mindset of doom from the jump.

I have no idea who he would pick. I also don't know who he has ties with as he is fairly new to this. I feel like he was hamstrung a little with the scheme that was there and changing stuff in the middle of the season just wouldn't have worked. It was a tough spot for him, but he does seem like he can be an excellent leader. Maybe he has some great coaches/coordinators willing to work with him up his sleeve that we don't know and he'll interview well. We'll see...

I too want to be inspired as a fan. The name Shula alone starts but at the end of the day I want them to pick someone who will help us get back to the playoffs and push for multiple super bowls while growing the organization.

I will be happy with, shanahan, Jackson or coughlin as I believe we need someone who has experienced and gains immediate respect from our dis functional locker room. In my minds eye I see shanahan and his son being HC and off coordinator/asst HC. With a 4-5 year plan of handing the reigns over to Kyle once everything is setup and culture is revived.

I also wouldn't mind although they will never happen, Jim harbaugh or urban Meyer

Of that list, the order of my preference is (Top ten)....

Jon Gruden
Mike Shanahan
Hue Jackson
Tom Coughlin
Jim Schwartz
Adam Gase
Dan Campbell
Mike Shula
Jim Mora
Josh McDaniels
