It was pretty obvious what Nick Saban was gonna do. No one turns down 40 mil. So here you sit, without a head coach much like the Falcons who fired Mora as soon as the off season got under way...I've noticed you guys showing interest in Mora. He isn't a bad HC by no means. If it were up to me the only people who would have left the Falcons would be the Coordinators on both sides and the 130 million dollar mistake franchise QB..So seeing as how we are both coachless I have come to discuss and debate head coaches for fun...My top candidates that I would like to see as our HC are as follows in order from my fav.:
1) Greg Schiano (Rutgers HC): He has taken a small college football team and turned them into a force to be reckoned with and eventually had them at #6 in the nation in college football rankings. He is a defensive minded coach and I would rather have a defense than an offense. The only problem is he loves the Rutgers and recently denied acoaching job and The U. Of course coaches can change theirs minds....If the price is right...:D
2) Bobby Petrino (Louisville HC): This choice is obvious. Let me show you one stat. He is in his fourth year as a HC for the cardinals and his career record with them is 40-8 including 22-1 at home. That is rather impressive wouldn't you think? He is known by his brilliance of the offense and has been considered one of the best offensive minded coaches in all of football...Even though I'm more of a defensive guy, a 40-8 record in 4 years with his team changes my mind quick...Of course he is still in contract with the Cardinals for 10 years worth 25 mil. but that can be taken care of...:D
3) Ken Whisenhunt (Pittsburgh OC): He is a very smart coach and knows every trick in the book not to mention he played for the Falcons back in the day so there's a + already. He is a run first type of guy and that's really what I'm looking for. I hate to see us come out and throw an incomplete pass on first down or a pass period...it bugs the **** out of me. With a run first HC and the number one rushing attack in the NFL we would be sure to shatter rushing records and establish ourselves as a dominant force in the NFC. As long as the defense could hold it's end of the deal.
4) Norm Chow (Tennessee OC): Now I choose Norman because of what he has done with QBs. He is a master mind when it comes to the QB position. He has coached the following QBs and helped them turn out as good as they are today: Jim McMahon, Steve Young, *Ty Detmer*, Philip Rivers, Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart...**I put Detmer because he did win the Heisman in college but who knows what happend after that?...I also like what he has done with Vince this season and I would like to see what he could do with the 130 million dollar mistake...
I also like Pete Carroll but I don't feel like typing anymore...
