This video is a must watch for anyone who coaches football or plays. As a coach of kids, I find it very important. If you play or coach, please take time to look at this video.

It was suggested to me by Skeet to post here as well. Great idea...

My team does neck stretches before practice and games. It's ultra important....unless you're a ***** and don't wanna hit anyone.

Yeah I've played Rugby League and Rugby my whole life and playing without any pads or helmets certainly puts your neck in harm. In training, I had always made it my absolute number one priority -- my neck, traps, and delts are the most important area of my body because I know that it's a high risk area, but also I get so much power from there.

I would recommend that you guys do some neck exercises before you hit that field. A simple one is to lie on a bench with your head over the edge. Hold a weight plate lightly on your head and push your head up/left/right...get the right flexion so you can build all the muscles equally. Also a lot of parallel delt work and trap stuff like barbell flyes, shrugs etc will help
