Coming to Miami for my first Dolphins home game ever vs. the Patsies on December 6th. Lifelong Fins fan and crazy excited for it! Definitely a good game to make our first appearance (me and my wife are coming from Ontario, Canada). Flying in Sunday morning and flying out Monday night. Looking for ideas on where to stay since we'll be hanging out the following day as well. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait to hang out with the best football fans in the world!

Here's what I recommend and trust me—I travel A LOT. First off, fly into Ft. Lauderdale International airport. Don't fly into Miami. The stadium itself is just as close to FLL as it is to MIA. FLL is a much cheaper airport to fly into and people speak English there. MIA is just a huge hassle I think. I'm not sure which airport you'll be flying out of but my guess is that you'll have a connecting flight in Atlanta and you can grab a flight out of ATL to FLL on AirTran for roughly $180. I'm sure you'll book the full roundtrip for whatever cost but I always fly from ATL to FLL for about that price.

I recommend staying in the Ft. Lauderdale area as well. It's much cheaper on the wallet and Ft. Lauderdale is much better than Miami anyways. FACT. Stay in the Hallandale Beach area. I recommend the Westin Diplomat. You can get a great room at the Dip for $80 a night if you book it on Priceline. That's a $250 per night room for $80. You won't beat it and they have FREE valet parking.

If you stay at the Dip the stadium is a short 10 minute drive. Just take Ocean Drive South to Hallendale Beach Blvd. at hit 95 South to exit 12. From there you'll hit the Florida Turnpike and stay straight for about a mile to exit 2x. You'll see the stadium, don't worry. Bring a few bucks in change for the toll plaza and be prepared to pay $25 to park your car in one of the back lots if you get there early. If you get there late they'll probably force you to park all the way over by Snake Creek.

Possum,
yeah, that really didn't help the original plans. We were going to get there around 130pm - so much for that idea. Time for Plan B I suppose. Thanks for the heads up though.

JCane,
thanks for that. I've been to Fort Lauderdale a couple of times but have never stayed in or near Miami. Westin's are always nice too. Cheers!
