If this has been posted before, I apologize for the redundancy. But because I've never seen it, thought this is an interesting background story on how Carroo, at the age of 14 went to live with his teammate's family and immediately was embraced into the fold.

It's not a Michael Oher "Blindside" type story because Carroo's mom was a very loving one who at great sacrifice managed for awhile to transport her son the 50 miles to powerhouse Don Bosco for him to fulfill his potential - at least until she ran out of resources and steam.

She had bonded at a football parents event with the Yankovich's son Mike's mom and in desparation called her and asked if she'd take Leonte in, which the family did with no reservations. End result: Carroo has the equivalent of blended loving family and a brother in his teammate.

here's the local Jersey article from 2014 if you're interested

I tried to click on the article but it required 3 draft picks to view it. :idk:

I think this was posted last season (not a complaint) very nice story.

I am very hard on this trade, but it isnt his fault the FO gave up all those picks. Everythime I have heard interviews with Carroo he comes across very well

I don't understand how fans hate a player because of where they were drafted. It's like "I think we reached on him, I'd rather we took (insert name here) instead", to the point they WANT the player to fail just to prove themselves right

I hate the trade, but he was a play maker for Rutgers. I'm willing to give him a chance. It's not his fault they made that trade.

I lost my little orphan annie secret decoder ring so I couldnt read the full article :(

I'll anwser that because I've bitched about that trade as much as anyone on that forum. First I've got nothing against the player, I actually feel bad for him because now, unless they get rid of Landry, he is almost garenteed to be labeled as a failure because of our FO, and his 2nd contract will be affected because of that. We have 3 draft picks buried on the depth chart as a 4th WR.... Thats not a complaint on the player, thats a complaint in the ressource management department... Big difference. I sincerely hope that people who are bitching now that nobody is giving him a shot, understand 2 years from now why we didnt get any production from him after 3 seasons in the NFL, and dont start to blame him for that...

And if the FO actually does have the balls to trade Landry, I seriously doubt thats going to help Carroo sell some jerseys... Carroo got ****ed by the Fins essentially...

When Landry wants WAY more than he's worth, I can see them trading him. Landry's numbers are high (except for the most important stat of TDs) only because Philbin/Lazor and now Gase prefer a short pass based offense. That, plus poor o-line play, meant that Tannehill usually went to his security blanket Landry. Once Miami fixes the o-line, Ajayi will get more rushes and Tannehill will have more time to go deep to Stills. Plus, Thomas as a seam-threat TE will take catches away from Landry too. And, what about Carroo? With so many draft picks used to acquire him, he'd better see the field! Personally, I'd look into trading Landry during the draft BEFORE he costs Miami too much money for too little production.

Im pretty neutral on that subject, as I would understand why the move is being done. But I really like Landry and it would really suck to lose such an interresting player. But I will tell you this, we are a minority, and hell will break loose on this forum if they were to pull the trigger... I mean ANY compensation will be a joke, I've seen crazy pills expecting 2 1st picks for Landry in a trade... It wont be pretty....

I don't think the FO will ask this board if it's ok to trade Landry. If it was up to us we'd have fix the guard situation already

Ozzy rules!!

Carroo "getting F'd" is his own fault. He had his chance to make a good impression and possibly even make Stills dispensable (yes I realize they are diff types of receivers). To his defense he was only a rookie, but he obv showed nothing in practice (especially mentally from what was reported) to warrant more playing time. If you dont have the talent or work ethic to beat out the guys ahead of you, how would you expect to get on the field? And why should he be playing ahead of anyone else unless he's earned it?

As one of the few people who's ok with the trade value wise, I think Carroo will have a career that is worth a 3rd, 4th and 6th round pick, I 100% agree with those who dislike it from the stand point the the cost isn't warranted for a 4th receiver. If the plan was draft Carroo and develop him to your number 3 then yes. However, for a 4th receiver that sees spot duty... you could do that with a cheap free agent, udrafted player or a 6th or 7th round pick. With so many college teams throwing the ball around the field, finding a 4th or 5th receiver might be the easiest task a gm faces, the pool for simply depth level talent at that position is always full.
